Newly crowned UFC champion Sean O’Malley has controversially suggested he’s allowed to cheat on his wife because he “pays for everything.”

O’Malley justified the hype surrounding his name by capturing the UFC bantamweight title this past weekend after stunned Alijamain Sterling with a brutal shot in just two rounds during Saturday’s main event at UFC 292.

The Phoenix fighter put Sterling down with an overhand right early in the second, before following him with ground and pound until referee Marc Goddard stopped the fight 51 seconds into the round.

It was a night to enjoy for O’Malley as he took part in a five round match at the TD Garden for the very first time.

And in the Octagon, he celebrated his wife Danya Gonzalez after the victory, with whom he shares a three-year-old daughter.

When discussing his relationship with Danya on Bradley Martyn’s podcast ‘Raw Talk’, O’Malley caused controversy by claiming that he can cheat on his wife as he funds their lifestyle.

After emphasizing that he wouldn’t be happy if Danya did the same thing to him, O’Malley told Martyn: ‘I am a king, I pay for everything.

“I treat Danya like a queen. If I get a little p**s, what’s that got to do with anything?

‘Testosterone runs through my veins; it’s easy.’

Fans were quick to respond to O’Malley for his stance, with one responding to a post with his comments, “What a joke!”

A second comment: “That’s disgusting.”

Another said, “That’s so low of him.” Why are you saying this in public?’

“Yooo That’s crazy, wtf,” said a fourth.

While someone posted, “Lmao, that’s not a man, that’s a boy.”

O’Malley first met Gonzalez long before he rose to fame in the UFC, with the couple having their first child during the 2020 Covid-19 lockdown.

He has previously spoken out about their “open” relationship and denied the possibility of spending the rest of his life with just one partner.

The MMA star said on the Full Send podcast last year, “Everyone has a different definition of an open relationship. I like to think of ours as an open-minded relationship, where we don’t own each other.

‘I don’t own her, and she doesn’t own me. When I first met Danya I told her “I don’t know why anyone would fuck the same chick for the rest of their life, I can’t do that.” So she knew she wasn’t in love with a fake me.

“We’ve had some great threesomes. In every relationship it should be good, it just has to happen.’
