The Mexican triumphed in the lions’ den in Rio de Janeiro in the early hours of Sunday morning UK time, winning via technical knockout after doctors called off the fight due to Figueiredo’s eye not being able to open. .
And Moreno, who regained the unified flyweight title as a result, had to rush out of the venue flanked by security to avoid retaliation from angry fans.

Video posted on the social networking site Twitter shows Moreno being rushed from the arena with beer glasses and other objects raining down on him as some in the crowd expressed frustration with the outcome.
In the clip, which has already been viewed nearly 150,000 times, the commenter says: “And now he (Moreno) is being pulled out of the arena… oh my god oh my god!”
The 29-year-old killer baby, now 21-6-2, is now the undisputed king of the flyweight division after his ‘quadrology’ fight against Figueiredo, his fourth fight in the last five against the Brazilian veteran.
