UEFA hold urgent talks on stand against disgraceful racist abuse of at Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior

EXCLUSIVE: UEFA is holding urgent talks to take a stand against outrageous racist abuse targeting Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior…with the governing body set to strengthen their anti-discrimination stance in the coming days

UEFA has held urgent talks about taking a public stand against the disgusting racist abuse of Real Madrid striker Vinicius Jr.

Despite internal calls to do so, as of Tuesday evening there was a reluctance from European football’s governing body to publicly intervene in a case that has shocked the world in recent days.

Given the escalating nature of the situation, their stance may change in the coming days as they decide after internal talks whether to strengthen their anti-discrimination stance.

The feeling on Tuesday was that the matter is an internal matter for Spanish football.

UEFA has a strong anti-racism policy and has taken a number of initiatives to combat discriminatory behavior in football.

But the organization is often cautious about commenting on matters that occur in individual European competitions.

Meanwhile, Vinicius Jr. manager Carlo Ancelotti believes the South American will stay at Real Madrid, despite the player hinting he was open to leaving the club after two years of racial abuse.

Vinicius said he would not back down in his fight against racism, even if he had to go far away to continue his fight.

But when asked if the 22-year-old is considering leaving Madrid, Ancelotti replied: “I don’t think so. He likes Real Madrid.

“A lot of things have been going through his mind, but I don’t think he’s thinking about leaving. His love for the club is very great and he wants to make a career here.’

Vinicius did not train on Tuesday, while Ancelotti told reporters he had a minor knee problem and should not risk injury with a one or two game suspension on the verge of starting for his red card against Valencia on Sunday.
