A 29-year-old Uber Eats driver is accused of spitting in a customer’s face and stealing their creepy seasonal decorations after she was confronted about stealing food from their order.
Alexsandra Del Valle Acosta Aguilar was arrested last week and taken to the Central County Jail in Bartow, Florida. She was charged with one count of minor robbery and one count of grand larceny from a dwelling over $100, according to Polk County Sheriff’s Office records.
The female resident who was allegedly victimized by Acosta Aguilar placed a meal order with Uber Eats on September 12, 2024, according to a probable cause statement obtained by Law & Crime.
The woman saw her delivery driver — later identified as Acosta Aguilar — “removing food from the bag she ordered” around 11:56 p.m., according to the affidavit.
When the woman went outside, she saw the suspect outside her home holding a sign that read “Happy Fall Y’all.”

According to an arrest affidavit, Acosta Aguilar, who was employed as an Uber driver, spat in her customer’s face after she was confronted about both stealing the alleged victim’s fall decor and stealing the food order she was supposed to deliver.
“The victim then removed the sign from the suspect’s possession and the suspect began a verbal altercation with the victim before intentionally spitting on the victim against her will,” police wrote.
They continued: ‘Immediately after being spat at, the victim covered herself with the sign and retreated to the furthest point from the suspect before being stopped by the closed front door. The suspect then took possession of a decorative garden urn, valued at approximately $10, and began walking to her car.”
Acosta Aguilar also allegedly loaded a “decorative column” from the victim’s belongings into her car before driving away.
The woman then noticed that she was missing other decorations from outside her home.
All told, the value of the allegedly stolen items was $300.

According to the affidavit, Acosta Aguilar escaped before police could arrive, but she would not evade capture for long.
Police were quickly able to determine that Acosta Aguilar worked for Uber Eats. The alleged victim also gave them a description of the car that sped away, which matched a car registered to Acosta Aguilar.
Officers arrived at Acosta Aguilar’s home, where she confirmed she had delivered food to the woman’s address, according to the affidavit.
Police said the physical description the alleged victim gave them matched Acosta Aguilar.
Based on all this, Acosta Aguilar was arrested and charged. She remains in custody and remains ineligible for bond as of early Tuesday morning.
