Tyson Fury has broken his silence on social media to pay tribute to the Queen ahead of her funeral on Monday, as fans wait to hear if he will take on Anthony Joshua in a massive domestic clash later this year.

The Gypsy King called on Joshua in a series of videos on social media earlier this month, and Joshua’s management team, 258, has since revealed that they have “accepted all terms” for the fight to go ahead.

After this announcement, Fury was unusually quiet, but he’s now taken to Instagram to explain why.

“Hey guys, Queen’s funeral today,” he said on his Instagram story Monday morning.

“I have been off social media for the past ten days to mourn, out of respect for our late Queen. Nothing posted, wasn’t interested in anything else, to be honest.

“I hope the entire funeral goes well, my condolences to all the family and may she rest in heaven forever. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.’

Fury may be keeping quiet about the prospect of facing his compatriot for now, but his promoter Frank Warren has confirmed that Joshua has been given a contract for the fight.

Clearly Joshua has agreed to a 60-40 split in favor of Fury for the clash, who will be moved to 50-50 for the rematch if Joshua is victorious.

If the fight goes through, it will take place on December 3rd, with Cardiff’s Principality Stadium leading the way to host the event.

Fury hasn’t fought since April when he defeated Dillian Whyte via sixth-round knockout at Wembley Stadium.

He announced his intention to retire from boxing after that win, but has since changed his mind and set his sights on fighting Joshua.

Meanwhile, Joshua suffers consecutive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk, but will have another shot at becoming a three-time heavyweight champion if he and Fury sign on the dotted line to fight in December.
