Tyson Fury has laughed off the suggestion of Anthony Joshua wanting to fight Deontay Wilder on the undercard of his clash with Oleksandr Usyk.
The Gypsy King will battle former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in a highly anticipated crossover bout this Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Provided he comes through the fight unscathed, contracts have been signed to see Fury finally step into the ring with Usyk in an undisputed heavyweight world title fight in the Middle East later this year.
With both fights taking place in Saudi Arabia, there is some speculation that Joshua’s fight with Wilder could also take place in Saudi Arabia, with Joshua himself even suggesting it could be part of the Fury Usyk undercard.
However, Fury has dismissed these claims and embarrassed Joshua as he begged to be part of the card.
Tyson Fury has accused Anthony Joshua of suggesting his fight with Deontay Wilder will be on the undercard of Fury’s fight with Oleksandr Usyk.
Fury and Usyk have signed contracts for an undisputed world title fight in Saudi Arabia
“It’s quite embarrassing when you have a former world heavyweight champion begging for a fight, begging to be on the undercard.” Fury told me IFLTV.
‘Is he a kid or something? He wants to be on my undercard? Him versus Wilder? Battle for the biggest loser? Go get your own show.”
No final deal has been signed between Joshua and Wilder, but the British boxer seemed to be under the impression that this could be part of the undercard when he spoke to Sky during the weekend.
Joshua said: “If they go ahead with this undisputed fight that has been looming for a while, word on the street is that it should be the undisputed fighters and then the undercard should be a big, lively fight with me and Wilder. .’
Fury and Osyk are set to meet in December, although no official date for the fight has been confirmed.
The Gypsy King will take on former UFC star Francis Ngannou in a crossover fight this weekend
The Ukrainian has revealed he will be ringside for Fury’s fight this weekend, but the 35-year-old told MailSport in an exclusive interview that it is not about Osyk on Saturday.
Fury said: ‘I’m saying this, f*** Usyk. It’s not about him. This is the Tyson Fury show. It’s about me and Francis Ngannou.
“The African king meets the gypsy king and you know what, we throw it down. So anything that happens after that, anything that happens after that, and anything that comes before that, is not important.”
