EXCLUSIVE: Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are now set to meet at WEMBLEY as Saudi bidders cannot confirm if construction of the Jeddah stadium can be completed in time for the undisputed heavyweight title fight.
- Wembley Stadium is now ready to host the highly anticipated fight between two
- Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will meet on April 29 in an undisputed clash
- It was originally going to be held in a newly built stadium in Saudi Arabia.
Tyson Fury’s fight for the undisputed world heavyweight championship heads to Wembley Stadium on April 29.
Fury himself is urging rival title holder Oleksandr Usyk to agree on the London date as bidders oil-rich Saudi Arabia cannot confirm construction of their new stadium in Jeddah can be completed on time.
The Gypsy King’s preference for the venue has always been Wembley, for his British fans, although richer mega-million prizes are on offer for both fighters in the Saudi Kingdom, where Anthony Joshua lost to Usyk for the second time.
Both camps are aware that the chance to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis risks being lost if the fight scheduled for February is pushed any further.
Boxing’s sanctioning bodies — the WBC in Fury’s case and the WBA, IBF and WBO whose belts Usyk holds — will not wait forever for mandatory defenses of their titles against other top contenders.

The fight between them is now headed to Wembley Stadium instead of Saudi Arabia.
Decision Day D is said to be this week and Wembley has already been booked by the promoters of Fury’s Queensberry.
If a deal cannot be reached with Usyk, Fury will likely fight there on April 29 against a designated challenger.
Usyk will also be eager to fight someone, as he juggles his boxing career with visits to Ukraine in support of his country’s war against Russia.
But what a shame if boxing is deprived of finding the first undisputed champion of its top division for more than a decade.
Boxing fans around the world are eager for an agreement to be reached between Fury, the current holder of the WBC title, and Usyk, the current holder of the WBA, WBO and IBF belts.
