Tyreek Hill’s agent takes swipe at Dolphins after receiver was accused of quitting on team in season finale

It’s hard to say if Tyreek Hill will stay in South Beach or leave.

The mercurial wideout told reporters after the Dolphins’ season-ending loss to the New York Jets that he is “out” of Miami.

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel seemed to confirm this at the post-game press conference when he suggested the star wide receiver had taken himself out of Sunday’s game in the third quarter. Even some eagle-eyed fans claim to have spotted the moment Hill would quit the team.

Even Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, was forced to take an apparent swipe at the team during Thursday’s interview with ESPN’s Pat McAfee.

“I believe Tyreek is a great asset for the Dolphins,” Rosenhaus said, “and I think he’s the least of the guys for this organization that people should be concerned about. They have more concerns. Tyreek Hill is not one of them.”

Rosenhaus didn’t go into detail about what the Dolphins’ other concerns are, but somehow, despite all evidence to the contrary, he remains convinced that Hill wants to stay in Miami.

“What you see with Tyreek is very authentic,” Rosenhaus said. ‘He wants to win. It’s not good enough for him not to make the playoffs. He is very passionate. I think ultimately he’s involved with this Dolphins football team.”

Rosenhaus also said Hill played through a broken wrist all season after suffering the injury in training camp during a scrimmage against Washington.

Doctors at the time recommended season-ending wrist surgery, but Hill declined, according to Rosenhaus.

“The doctors all said, ‘It’s going to be painful. It can affect your entire career. If you don’t get it done now, you may not be able to solve it completely,” Rosenhaus said. “Tyreek said, ‘Hey, for starters. I’m a team man, I go for it.’

Hill had one of the least productive seasons of his nine-year career in 2024. His 959 yards were his fewest since injuries limited him to 860 yards in 12 games with Kansas City in 2019. His 81 catches were also his fewest since he had 58. that season.

After catching two passes on three targets for 20 yards in a Week 18 loss to the Jets that eliminated Miami from postseason contention, a frustrated Hill hinted at a possible split with the team he has played against for the past three seasons .

“I’m gone, brother. It’s been great playing here,” Hill said, “but at the end of the day I have to do what’s best for my career. … I’m too much of a competitor to just be there.”

Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel downplayed Hill’s comments as an emotional response to a disappointing season immediately after the game. Hill pulled himself out of the game late in the third quarter.

McDaniel and Hill had an hour-long conversation to “clear the air” the next day. McDaniel said he told Hill it was unacceptable for him to leave the game. Hill also spoke with general manager Chris Grier, who said the trustee never formally requested a transaction.
