Tyreek Hill reveals bizarre treatment he had in Antigua during NFL offseason

Tyreek Hill revealed he underwent a unique treatment in Antigua to improve his durability ahead of the NFL season.

Hill, 30, traveled to the Caribbean before training camp to undergo stem cell therapy, a process that promotes blood flow in the body.

Cheetah is now at an age where most athletes, especially in his position, are slowing down. He speaks candidly about the wonders the treatment has done to keep him as sharp as possible.

“Stem cells have been amazing,” Hill said at a news conference. “I just got back from Antigua [on Monday]of doing stem cells and it’s amazing.

“Just helping to regenerate some cells in my body and give me the proper blood flow that I need. That’s awesome.”

The process uses stem cells to promote healing and repair in the body. Researchers grow stem cells — which can differentiate, or change, into other types of cells — in a lab and implant them into a person to help repair damaged tissue.

Although the effectiveness of the method has yet to be determined, the stem cell therapy must still be approved by the FDA in the United States, so the recipient will fly to Antigua to receive it.

Another high-profile NFL star to try the treatment was Peyton Manning, who had the surgery performed on his neck in 2011.

Hill tried the experimental method to extend his career.

“I feel like I’m going to train my whole life because I feel like every year I have to prove something to people,” Hill said. “Because a lot of people think I’m not allowed to do what I’m supposed to do because of my size and my frame.

“But it’s like… Tom Brady said it best — you don’t have to be the best or the strongest or the tallest, but as long as you’re consistent in what you do every day, you’ll be fine. And I feel like I’ve been that my whole career.”
