Tyreek Hill is seen for the first time since being handcuffed and hit by cops on his way into Miami stadium – as Dolphins star warms up for Jaguars game

Tyreek Hill took the field for the Miami Dolphins against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, just hours after he was pulled over by police on his way to Hard Rock Stadium.

The 30-year-old Hill was pinned to the ground and handcuffed by police on his way to the stadium, creating astonishing scenes.

In a shocking video, the wide receiver even appears to have been beaten without provocation by an officer after he was handcuffed on the sidewalk just one block away from the Hard Rock.

After being released by police, Hill was able to go to the stadium and join his teammates. Despite his ordeal, he still started for Miami against Jacksonville.

As kickoff approached, the five-time First-team All-Pro could be seen working the field for the game.

He then emerged from the tunnel with his teammates before getting into action for the season opener against the Jaguars.

While driving to the game, he was ordered to pull over about a block away from Hard Rock after being issued a ticket for “reckless driving,” according to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington.

Hill, who is in his third season with the Dolphins, was then held on the ground and led away in handcuffs after reportedly getting into an altercation with an officer. He was released by officers shortly afterward.

Several Miami teammates are said to have stepped in to calm the situation.

After a clip of a police officer rushing toward Hill and punching him during his arrest went viral, X users immediately called them out on the excessive force used during what was described as a “minor” traffic violation.

“Why are they doing him like that? That’s my question because he’s black,” a user wrote.

‘Racist officers tried to arrest Tyreek Hill’ another added. ‘That’s nonsense.’

‘@MiamiDadePD you have some explaining to do for the racist shit your officers pulled on Tyreek Hill this morning,’ a third wrote. ‘Clearly at least one of your officers thought he was an easy target as a black man with a nice car. Racist enough? When there is no accountability, expect @CivilRights.’

A fourth fan agreed in and wrote: ‘Tyreek Hill is going to have a monster game today after being arrested by some racist cops before today’s Dolphins game.’

In a statement to DailyMail.com, Miami-Dade police confirmed they will review all details surrounding Hill’s arrest, including bodycam footage of the incident.

Director Stephanie V. Daniels said, “We are aware of the recent arrest of Miami Dolphins player Tyreek Hill by officers of the Miami-Dade Police Department. I have requested an immediate review of all details surrounding the incident and we are reviewing available body camera footage.

‘We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.’

The Dolphins confirmed in a statement Sunday morning that their player was safe and with his teammates at the stadium.

The team’s statement read: “This morning, WR Tyreek Hill was stopped for a traffic incident approximately one block from the stadium and briefly detained by police. He has since been released.

‘Several teammates witnessed the incident and stopped to offer support.

‘Tyreek and all other players involved have arrived safely at the stadium and will be available for today’s match.’

Although his client has been released, Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, described the incident as a “heartbreaking situation” that was “completely unnecessary” and said action will be taken.

Rosenhaus called his client’s short detention “astonishing.”

“I’m very upset about it,” he told Darlington on ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown. “We’re going to have to look at it.”

The officer added that he was “just thankful that Tyreek is OK” and thanked the team for their help in de-escalating the situation.

Rosenhaus told Hill after the incident, “He said he drove into the stadium, the police pulled him over, pulled him out of the car and were being rude to him at that point.”

“It’s a legal situation, so I have to be careful not to give too many details,” he continued. “But he was coming into the stadium when all this was happening. All of the extra stuff that was happening, from my perspective, seems completely unnecessary.

“I’m very upset about it, I was very worried about Tyreek. But thank God the situation calmed down when I got there.”
