Tyreek Hill claims he wants to leave the Miami Dolphins in stunning postgame interview: ‘I’m out bro’
Tyreek Hill has sensationally claimed he wants to leave the Miami Dolphins after missing the NFL play-offs for the first time in his career.
Hill fell short of a 1,000-yard season and the Dolphins went 8-9 and missed the postseason after a Week 18 loss to the Jets in New York.
The wide receiver stunned reporters in the locker room when he claimed he “wanted out of the franchise.”
When asked to reflect on his season, he said: “Ultimately there are a lot of things I need to rethink about my career, and see what I need to do to improve as a player, so I can hit that 1,000-meter mark continue to achieve.
‘This is the first time I am not participating in the play-offs. I just have to do what’s best for me and my family, if that’s here or wherever.
‘I open that door for myself. I’m gone, brother. It was great to play here, but in the end I had to do what was best for my career. I’m too much of a competitor to just step outside of that.’
Soon after, Hill took to social media and did little to dampen the flames as he wrote, “Love fin nation bless you all opened doors for the Hill family forever nothing but respect and love.”
Hill finished the season with 939 receiving yards, failing to reach 1,000 for the first time since 2019.
A nine-year NFL veteran, the wide receiver has reached the playoffs every season to date, first with the Kansas City Chiefs and starting in 2022 with the Dolphins.
He’s a Super Bowl champion – in 2020 with the Chiefs – and eight-time Pro Bowler, and his shocking comments after the season finale will have many teams intrigued about the possibilities for the 2025 season.
Hill, 30, is under contract with the Dolphins through 2026 after signing a three-year, restructured deal worth $90 million ahead of the 2024 season.
The receiver had a rough start to the 2024 season after being pulled over for a minor traffic violation on his way to Hard Rock Stadium for the season opener.
In a shocking video, he was pinned to the ground by police, but a few hours later he was still playing against the Jaguars, catching seven passes for 130 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown.
