DETROIT– Two women were hospitalized Monday after a man doused them with gasoline and set them on fire in Detroit.
The attack took place around 6 a.m. on Monday, WJBK-TV reportedDennis Richardson, chief of fire investigation for the Detroit Fire Department, said the women had just arrived at work when the man poured gasoline on them and set them alight with a lighter.
The women were both taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital with serious injuries. The man was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
Police Chief James White said the man worked at the company and had recently been suspended or fired and believed the women were partly responsible. White said he expects to recommend that prosecutors bring attempted murder charges against him. Police have not identified him.
