One person has been seriously injured and a Chicago police officer is in hospital after a suspect opened fire on a police evidence center in the city today.
The shots were fired at the evidence building in Homan Square shortly after noon.
One person has been taken to hospital, where he remains in critical condition, alongside a police officer who was also shot. It is not yet clear how serious the officer’s injuries are.
There is a lot of police on the spot. The motive for the shooting and the identity of the suspect are not yet known.
There is a large police presence at the Evidence Preservation Center in Chicago’s Homan Square
