Two New York police officers were attacked, one stabbed in the head, during New Year’s Eve celebrations near Times Square.
Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and seeing dozens of police officers running toward the bloody scene around 9:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, blocks from where thousands gathered to celebrate 2023.
The suspect is believed to have been shot by police.
Early reports suggest that one policeman was stabbed and the other was attacked with a pipe. All three were rushed to Bellevue Hospital, their conditions are unknown.
Video from the scene shows revelers being rushed from the scene by police officers trying to control the scene, located at 52nd Street and Eighth Avenue.
Officers can be seen yelling at pedestrians to get away from the crime scene.
