Two high school students in Omaha, Nebraska, suffered cuts when a fight broke out and a teenager drew a knife.

Shocking video taken by a Harry A. Burke High School student captured the fight that broke out in the hallways Wednesday around 11:20 a.m.

It begins with three children attacking a single student, beating and stomping on him until a school official and other adults rush to separate the teens.

The boy who was being beaten gets up and suddenly pulls out a knife, scaring the onlookers.

He then leans over one of his attackers before one of the adults can step in and take the knife from him.

The adults appear to be trying to calm the teen down before he chases after one of the students who is pinned to the ground.

The security officer finally manages to catch the boy as more adults rush to control the situation and lead the students away from the scene.

According to Omaha police, two students suffered cuts and minor injuries in the altercation.

In a letter to parents, the school’s principal, Darren Rasmussen, wrote: “Staff and security responded immediately to defuse the situation. The incident was brought under control quickly, without the need to place the school on Hold or Secure.

“We continue to work with the families of the students involved and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken.”

The identity of the students involved in the fight has not been released.

Despite Rasmussen’s reassurances, parents and students in the district said the fight was not unusual at the school, nor was it even the only fight that took place that day.

His daughter, Hailee Osborn, told the local outlet that before the hallway fight, “there was a fight in the gym before that.”

Amid the negative publicity from the high school, Rasmussen tweeted a message saying, “Don’t dwell on the one negative thing that happened at school today when hundreds of other amazing things happened as well.”
