Cristiano Ronaldo was crowned twice at this year’s Globe Soccer Awards.
Ronaldo moved to the Middle East and Saudi Arabia when he signed for Al-Nassr in early 2023, and continues to score at an incredible pace.
The Portuguese superstar had a productive 2023/24 season with 44 goals and 13 assists in 45 games in all competitions.
He also won the Saudi Pro League golden boots with 35 goals, beating Aleksandar Mitrovic and Fashion Sakala to the award.
And Ronaldo’s achievements in 2024 did not go unnoticed at the star-studded Globe Soccer Dubai Awards in Dubai on Friday evening.
The 39-year-old was named the Middle East’s best player and also won the all-time top scorer award.
It is the second time that Ronaldo has won the award, having also claimed it in 2023.
During an interview at the start of the ceremony, Ronaldo revealed his post-retirement plans.
‘I’m not a coach. I’m never going to be a coach, club president? No. Maybe own the club,” he said.
The striker was then pressed on his comments, with the interviewer asking: ‘Is that what you want to do, become a club owner?’
Ronaldo replied: ‘Probably. I’ll see. It will depend on the moment, the right opportunities.’
“Do you have anything in mind?” the interviewer asked and Ronaldo replied: “Not yet, maybe a few.”
Another notable winner of the evening was Lamine Yamal, who won the Emerging Player of the Year trophy.
Vinicius Jr. was named Best Player and Best Striker, while Real Madrid teammate took home the award for Best Midfielder.
The winners were decided online after a record 100 million votes were cast by fans from more than 200 countries and territories.
Additionally, the Globe Soccer mobile app surpassed 1.5 million downloads, underscoring the event’s global appeal.
