Two Missouri boys missing for a year are found shopping in costumes at a Florida grocery store with their birth mother, who did not have custody of the siblings.

  • Brooke and Adrian Gilley, ages 11 and 12, disappeared on March 15 of last year.
  • The brothers had not been seen for the past eleven months after their abduction.
  • Kristi Gilley, 36, has been arrested in Florida with an active kidnapping warrant

Two Missouri brothers who were missing for nearly a year have been found with their ‘non-custodial’ mother in Florida nearly a year after she abducted them.

Brooke and Adrian Gilley, ages 11 and 12, were abducted by Kristi Nicole Gilley on March 15 last year in Clay County and have now been discovered eleven months later.

Gilley, 36, was not the children’s guardian at the time, and officers managed to locate her after a routine check of the vehicle’s tag.

Officers learned that she owned the car, and the vehicle came to their attention near a Winn-Dixie store in Florida, more than 1,100 miles from Missouri.

The High Springs Police Department discovered that Gilley was a fugitive and took her into custody at the grocery store, located about 20 miles from Gainesville.

Gilley, 36, was not the children’s guardian at the time, and officers managed to locate her after a routine check of the vehicle’s tag.

She had been shopping with her two children when she was arrested, and authorities confirmed that all three had dressed up.

Gilley was pulled over and arrested with an active kidnapping warrant out of Clay County.

Brooke and Aiden are now in the custody of the Florida Department of Children and Family Services.

They will be reunited with their biological family, according to authorities. It was previously believed that they were in California with Gilley.

No details were immediately provided about what led up to the alleged kidnapping nearly a year ago.

Gilley currently remains in the custody of the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, where she is expected to be extradited to Clay County.

In an update, the Missouri Liberty Police Department said: ‘Both Gilley children have been safely located out of state.

‘Her non-custodial mother is in custody on parental kidnapping charges in Clay County, Missouri.

‘Thank you to everyone who shared this post as you helped bring these kids home!’
