Two men were caught having sex on top of a moving New York 7 train – with the bare-bottom display becoming the latest shocking safety hazard for subway surfers.
While “subway surfing” is a common problem on public transportation in New York City, two men took it to a new level around 1:20 PM on Friday when they were spotted having sex on top of the moving train.
Jonathan Eli went to X and posted photos of the pair standing on the roof of the subway as it crossed the elevated tracks above the Van Wyck Expressway.
Eli, whose biography read “Transit Workers Against Corruption,” captioned his cheeky post, “What is the MTA doing about this?”
The photos also show a third man on top of the train watching the other men have sex. It is unclear what the identities of the metro passengers are.
“The only thing dumber than sitting on top of a subway car is dropping your pants,” said Tim Minton, MTA communications director. The New York Post.

In another photo, the men are seen facing each other as one stood upright and the other crouched. A third man watches the brutal show as cars and trucks drive beneath the evaluated tracks
Tim Minton, the MTA’s communications director, labeled the individuals as “reckless clowns” who “transit workers will have to deal with if their stupid stunt goes tragically wrong.”
“Those reckless clowns aren’t thinking about the litter pickers and other transportation workers they will have to deal with if their stupid stunt goes tragically wrong,” Minton added.
The first image shows a man with his pants down as his bare buttocks flashed to onlookers.
Wearing a dark hoodie, the couple enjoys afternoon delight in front of cars driving beneath the elevated tracks.
The second photo shows the two men facing each other, while one stands upright with his pants down and the other man appears to be crouching.
As they have sex, you see the third man sitting on the other side of them watching the free show.
Below Eli’s post, the NYCT Subway account commented and asked Eli to send them a direct message with further details about the romantic moment.
Stunned commenters shared their thoughts on the bizarre subway sex, as one said: ‘New meaning for that song “The train kept rolling all night”.’
Alam Reyes, 14, fell from a Coney Island-F train in Brooklyn and died while surfing the subway
Despite the efforts of emergency services, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene
‘More detail? A picture is worth a thousand words,” said another.
“It all started with an innocent cup of coffee in a restaurant…” read another.
Another wrote: ‘Uhhhhhh…I don’t even know what to say about that!’
Subway surfing has become a major problem in the Big Apple as the MTA has tried to combat this dangerous trend.
Alam Reyes, 14, fell from a Coney Island-bound F train in Brooklyn in January while riding atop the train and died at the scene.
His heartbroken half-brother revealed that the teen followed multiple accounts that posted photos and videos of subway surfing around the city.
“Now that you go to his social media, you see who he follows, who his friends are,” Diego Tinoco, told the Daily News.
“When you see the videos people post of surfing on the subway, you realize it’s too late now.”
“He was a nice guy, he had a lot of friends, he just hung around in the wrong circles,” Tinoco added.
He said his brother left class at Landmark High School in Chelsea and went surfing on the subway with a friend.
The friend continued to the next stop after Reyes fell at the elevated Avenue N station in Midwood above McDonald Avenue.
People on McDonald Avenue saw blood on the street and then saw a sneaker fall from the rails, Ernesto Galindo, who works at Vinnie’s Pizza, told the News newspaper.
Jay Thirunarayanapuram (left), 15, was discovered on June 20 by the tracks near the Rhode Island Avenue station in Washington DC. Jevon Fraser, 14, also died while surfing on the subway when he fell from a train in Queens in June (right)
“It was a red and white Nike,” Galindo said.
‘Then the fire brigade, the police and the ambulance arrived. It was chaos. We were in shock. We are still in shock.’
Last year, four other teenagers, including Jay Thirunarayanapuram, 15, died while surfing on the subway.
Jay had filmed himself ‘subway surfing’ just before he died.
In another recent tragedy, 14-year-old Jevon Fraser died after riding atop the No. 7 train in Queens last June.
City officials have combated the rise of the dangerous trend, and last year the MTA and the mayor’s office launched a campaign aimed at young people.
In 2022, the MTA reported 928 cases of people riding outside, on top of or between trains – compared to just 206 in 2021.
According to MTA data, there were 450 reports of people surfing the city on the subway in the first six months of 2023.
