Andrea Bullo, 60, the owner of Moonshadows Malibu, and his teenage son, Marco, were pronounced dead at the scene after a fiery collision in Woodland Hills around 9 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of West Mulholland Drive and Valmar Road.
Lt. Matthew Bielski, of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division, said: KTLA that a preliminary investigation suggested 21-year-old Kevin Gonzalez was driving east on Mulholland Drive when he hit the Bullo’s vintage Mustang from behind.
Both cars immediately caught fire, authorities said, with video of the scene showing a fire in the front of Gonzalez’s Toyota Camry as the Mustang was completely engulfed in a fire.
Firefighters intervened quickly to put out the fire, but it was too late to save the Bullos.
However, Gonzalez managed to escape from his Toyota Camry and suffered only minor injuries. He was filmed doing a sobriety test on the spot.
Police say Gonzalez has now been arrested for two murders and is being held on $4 million bail.
