Two friends reveal the shocking results of their ‘botched’ lip injections after getting their fillers dissolved – as top plastic surgeon warns how to avoid a swollen trout pout

Two friends have revealed the shocking results of having their lip fillers dissolved in a hilarious video that has gone viral online.

Demi Passaris and Samuel Venchus had their lips plumped earlier this year, but they left the injector’s office with enormously large lips.

Demi shared the video on Instagram, joking, “We really thought we would look beautiful.”

She could also be heard laughing hysterically in the background as she filmed her stunned boyfriend Sam staring at his swollen lips in the mirror.

“We made a mistake,” she said into the camera, before turning the lens back on Sam.

People in the comments were shocked and often compared the two friends to characters from Monsters Inc.

“Your friend looks like quite the serial killer,” one wrote.

“I’m actually crying,” said another, before adding: “Please tell me everything is calm again!”

Someone slammed the couple, writing: ‘You didn’t mess it up… you asked for it… and paid for it… you thought you would look great because the industry is mind poisoning.’

Demi and Sam later clarified that it wasn’t really a “chore.” They explained that they had first had their previous lip fillers dissolved and then had new injections.

It is normal for the lips to swell temporarily after the filler has dissolved. This is caused by a combination of extra volume from the dissolving fluid and swelling from the injections.

In a follow up videothe couple announced that their lips had returned to normal.

“Everyone wanted an update on what we’ll look like post-dissolution,” she said.

“Sam literally looks beautiful. Still juicy, because they were redone,” the hair colorist continued.

“I’m not ruined anymore, but thank you for your concern,” she concluded.

Speaking to DailyMail.com, Dr. Deepak Dugar, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, warned people to be careful when getting lip fillers.

“It may seem trendy to dismiss lip fillers right now, but it’s better to never get to that point and have more optimal filler choices and techniques available from day one,” he urged.

Dr. Dugar, who has treated celebrity patients like TikTok influencer Madi Monroe and Vanderpump Rules star Dayna Kathan, offered advice on how people can find the best injector for their lips.

“The best tip for patients undergoing lip filler treatment for the first time is to use a LOW dose and apply additional filler if necessary,” he stressed.

“Go to a board-certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist or nurse practitioner or a physician assistant or a nurse practitioner who has safety as their number one priority – not money,” he continued.

“Today’s medspa world is run by private equity firms and other institutional financial firms that put profit over patient care. Skip Instagram trends and focus on safety and timeless results. I would rather do two treatments on a patient than do too many the first time.’

After years of plump pouts being fashionable, dozens of celebrities have started getting rid of their lip fillers in recent years.

Last year, Olivia Culpo said she was “really happy” with her lips after having her filler dissolved ahead of her wedding.

In 2023, pop star Ariana Grande confessed that she had gone “too far” with her hair enhancements, but that she is now enjoying her natural beauty.

‘I’ve had a lot of lip fillers and Botox over the years. I quit in 2018 because I felt like it was — too much. For a long time, beauty for me was about hiding, and now I feel like maybe it’s not,” she told Vogue.

Earlier this year, 21-year-old social media star Bhad Bhadie revealed that she had her facial fillers removed because they made her look much older.

“Stop using it unless you absolutely have to. It makes you look so much older and blocks your lymphatic drainage system, which makes your face a pillow!” she warned fans.
