Chilling surveillance footage shows the moment a teen wearing a mask runs through the streets with a house cat hours before his body was found dead in a nearby pond.
Police believe two boys, aged 12 and 14, took the cat from a house in Glenwood, western Sydney around 4:30pm on March 8, 2023.
The cat was allegedly taken to a nearby clearing and then tortured and killed.
The cat’s heartbroken owners checked their security footage after their 17-year-old cat Brandy failed to come home last Wednesday.

Emily Bidart, 28, was just 11 when Brandy became an addition to the family.
She told 7News that everyone in the neighborhood knew Brandy as “the weird cat” who goes for a walk in the park across the road.
Now that same park brings with it the harrowing memory of the attack.
“I’m looking out my bedroom window at my mom’s house and that’s exactly where she was (allegedly) killed,” Bidart said.
Bidart said she drove to her parents’ house in Glenwood last Wednesday and just felt something was wrong when she learned Brandy was missing and immediately checked the security cameras.
A few minutes after Bidart’s mother left the house to go to an appointment, the CCTV footage showed two boys looking for the cat, under cars and in the garden,
A boy is seen running away, reportedly saying, “Do you want to go to the cat?”.
About 23 minutes later, a boy returns in a hoodie and full face mask before reportedly grabbing the house cat from the front yard.
Bidart said when she watched what happened next, she had to look away.
“As soon as I (allegedly) saw the first blow to my cat, I had to look away,” she said.
