From paywalled features to a massive rebranding, it’s safe to say X (formerly Twitter) has undergone a complete transformation since Elon Musk took over.
Now the self-proclaimed “idiot in chief” has revealed his next big change to the platform.
X now allows people you’ve blocked to see your messages.
Musk claims it’s “about time this happened,” but the change has not been well received by many users.
“I don’t want the creeps I blocked to see my posts,” one user tweeted, while another simply said, “We don’t want that.”

While Musk claims it’s “about time this happened,” the change has not been well received by many users
X’s ‘block’ feature is designed to help users control how they interact with other accounts on the platform.
“This feature allows people to prevent certain accounts from contacting them, seeing their posts, and following them,” X explains on its help page.
Currently, accounts you’ve blocked cannot follow you, view your posts, find your posts in search results, send you direct messages, view your followers, likes, or lists, view a Moment you’ve created, add your X account to their lists, or tag you in a photo.
However, most of this depends on the account logged into.

The change has alarmed many X users, who have responded to Musk with their concerns
“I don’t want the creeps I blocked to see my messages,” one user tweeted, while another simply said, “We don’t want this.”
“Blocking only works if the account you blocked is logged into X,” X explains.
“For example, if the account you blocked isn’t logged in or gains access to X content through a third party, they may be able to see your public posts.”
Musk has now confirmed that accounts you’ve blocked will still be able to see your posts, even if they’re logged in.
“It’s high time this happened. The block feature blocks that account, but doesn’t block the public post,” Musk tweeted.
The change has alarmed many X users, who have expressed their concerns to Musk.
“This is not good at all. Many people block abusive accounts for security reasons in the real world. You just removed that,” one user replied to Musk
One irate user even went so far as to call the change Elon’s “worst idea ever since the rebranding”
“With all due respect, I think this is a bad idea,” one user tweeted.
There are many reasons why someone might not want certain people to easily see all of his or her public posts.
“Unfortunately, there are REALLY bad actors on social media.”
Another added: ‘This is not good at all. Many people block abusive accounts for security reasons in the real world. You just took that away.’
One of them even called the change “the worst idea ever since Elon rebranded.”
