Twitch is bleeding talent — is the new simulcasting policy the answer?

I’ll take it further simulcast expanding his rulesA living platform announced Friday. Since being shared during TwitchCon in Las Vegas, streamers can now broadcast live streams on even more platforms — YouTube and Kick, for example. That said, streamers won’t be able to make an “agreement with Twitch that requires exclusivity.”

“We truly believe that Twitch’s best service is live, interactive, and we’re willing to give creators the way they want to build their communities,” said Twitch VP of Community Product Jeremy Forrester in an interview with Polygon. at TwitchCon.

This news comes on the heels of the bloody Vellic of the great name of the character. On Oct. 19, Kick signed the massively popular streamer and co-owner of FaZe Clan Nickmercs to a one-year contract worth approximately $10 million. according to a Forbes report. This summer, the latest company also signed Amouranth, Twitch’s most popular female streamer, and former pro-Overwatch player xQc (the one whose second Kick offered $100 million). This is not to mention the talent that drives YouTube: In the last three years, YouTube has signed Valkyra, Ludwig, Sykkuno, LilyPichu, and more. Some of these streamers remained in the case of Twitch changing the revenue share from 70/30 (in favor of the streamers) to 50/50.

Forrester said that this talent departure was not a motivator for the project simulcast expanded, but called it “community driven” and saying that it is an example of developers struggling to demonstrate that they “listen” to the creator’s “concerns and can work with us.”

The most interesting part new guidelines just like all of them at the bottom of the FAQ. Streamers who left Twitch now have the opportunity to become Twitch Partners again. According to the guidelines, partners whose previous contracts were “terminated” because they left for another service – and previously warned that the contract has not been violated, “is eligible to reintegrate its membership status.”

Twitch also seems to be finally recognizing the value of cross-platform discovery. In August, Twitch updated its simulcast features to include TikTok and Instagram. During TwitchCon, streamers told Polygon that TikTok has become vital to drawing in new fans – TikTok’s short video format basically functions as a highlight reel for Twitch streamers to capture their funniest moments. “Being able to curate highlights from your stream and feed that into your TikTok algorithm has the ability to listen to what you see at all,” streamer Alex Labat told Polygon in anticipation of TwitchCon. And earlier this month, Twitch introduced its short feature, “Fables.”

With streaming options at the same time, there are still rules to more or less ensure that streamers do not use twitch to direct traffic to their other platforms, or try to interact with communities on various platforms at the same time. Streamers must “take care” of the quality of Vvelle users’ experience “no less than their experience on other platform services” – and this includes engaging with the Vvelle community via chat. Nor can streamers use a third-party app to “merge” chat features, for example. Streamers are also unable to provide links through the Vvellere stream, encouraging followers to leave the stream on another streaming platform.

“We believe that the creators will do this with the intention of bringing people to the game to help,” said Forrester, optimistically.
