A man who allegedly beat his wife to death will not appear in court for the next two months due to problems in obtaining the pathology report for the case.
Amira Moghnieh, 30, was allegedly murdered by her estranged husband Ahmad Hodroj, 36, when she came to his home in Bexley, in Sydney’s south, to pick up their children on July 6.
Hodroj, from whom Ms Moghnieh had been separated for about a year, is said to have dropped the children off at his sister’s house before his wife arrived.
He was arrested at the scene and charged with murder.
Hodroj’s case was heard at the Downing Center in Sydney on Thursday, where it was adjourned until December 21.
The court heard that due to ‘difficulty in obtaining forensic material’ relating to the case, it had to be adjourned.

Mrs. Moghnieh had gone to her estranged husband’s home on the evening of July 6 to pick up her children as part of a custody arrangement.
Her cousin Karim previously told Daily Mail Australia that Ms Moghnieh had spoken to her sister several hours earlier and that nothing appeared to be wrong before her death.
“Her sister spoke to her the morning before the incident,” Karim said.
‘They were laughing and having fun and everything was normal.
“She wasn’t stressed or worried.”
Another cousin, Fadi, said Hodroj had taken their three young children to his sister’s house next door before Ms Moghnieh arrived.
It is understood he wanted to talk to Ms Moghnieh about their divorce settlement, which was due to be finalized later in July.
Ms Moghnieh had only just celebrated receiving citizenship and an Australian passport in the days before she was allegedly killed and already had plans to take her children to her hometown in Lebanon to see family.
Hodroj will remain behind bars until his next court appearance in December.
