Jake and Callum Robinson: Twist in Aussie surfers’ alleged murders in Mexico as a fourth person is arrested
A fourth person has been arrested over the alleged murder of Perth brothers Callum and Jake Robinson, who were killed during a surfing trip in Mexico.
Brothers Jake, 30, and Callum Robinson, 33, and their friend Jack Rhoad, 30, were surfing and camping in Mexico’s Baja California region, near Ensenada, when they disappeared on April 27.
Family and friends took to social media to ask for help finding them after they failed to check into their Airbnb in Rosarito, near the U.S.-Mexico border.
A fourth person has now been arrested in connection with the alleged murders, after the brother’s bodies were discovered ten meters away in a well, Nine reported.

Authorities have not released any details about the arrested man.
The trio’s bodies were found near their remote campsite weeks after their disappearance, and three Mexicans were arrested shortly afterwards.
Police were able to make the first three arrests after one of the brothers’ cellphones was turned back on and pinged a local cell tower.
A woman was found in possession of the phone and some illegal drugs.
She was arrested along with two other men.
The incident is believed to be a ‘robbery gone wrong’, with Mexican authorities claiming the three men were shot in the head by locals as they tried to steal the tires of their pick-up truck.

Jesus Gerardo, the accused leader of the trio, also known as ‘El Kekas’, was ordered to appear in court and will remain behind bars until his hearing in November later this year.
Gerardo was arrested along with his brother Cristian Alejandro and girlfriend Ari Gisel.
The brothers were remembered by their friends and family this month during a paddle at Sorrento Beach, north of Perth, six weeks after they were killed.
Hundreds attended the paddle, where they went into the ocean on surfboards or boats and formed a circle with their oars in the air.
The Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club posted about the ceremony on their Facebook page.
βIt will provide an opportunity for these communities to come together to remember these two great boys and show their support for their families,β the message said.

Callum and Jake’s mother, Debra Robinson, paid tribute to her sons, along with her husband Martin, at their funeral service in Sorrento in Perth’s northwest earlier this month.
They gave an emotional speech to the 800 grieving friends and family who watched the service, which was also streamed live.
βWe loved that Jake was curious, friendly, fun-loving and never judgmental,β Mrs. Robinson said.
