Twerking flight attendant is fired from Alaska Airlines over viral video filmed while waiting two hours for a pilot

A California flight attendant was fired after posting a viral clip of her twerking while waiting for a pilot on an empty flight.

Nelle Diala, a former Alaska Airlines flight attendant, was fired from her “dream job” after a video she posted to TikTok of her twerking on an empty plane went viral.

“The video went viral overnight, but instead of love and support, it brought unexpected criticism,” she added.

Diala first captioned the viral clip, which has been viewed more than 72,000 times, “ghetto bih till i DIE, don’t let the uniform fool you.”

The San Francisco resident claims she did a victory dance to celebrate the end of her new probation.

“I also celebrated the end of my probation and ending a tough upbringing in San Francisco, something many people in the industry could relate to.

“Although it was a bad decision on my part, I didn’t think it would cost me my dream job,” Diala wrote.

Her celebration was short-lived, however, when Alaska Airlines terminated her employment just six months into her contract.

“I explained that the video wasn’t intended to harm anyone or the company, but they wouldn’t listen. Without warning they fired me. No discussion, no chance to defend myself – and no chance for a thorough and thorough investigation,” she said.

Diala has since reposted the twerking clip with the new caption: “Can’t even be yourself anymore without the world being so sensitive. What’s wrong with a little twerking before work, people act like they’ve never done that before.’

The images were posted along with the hashtag #discriminationisreal.

“I never thought a single moment would cost me everything,” Diala wrote on the fundraising page, which received $646 of its $12,000 goal on Thursday.

“Losing my job was devastating,” she added.

Now Diala plans to focus more on her lingerie and dessert business.

“Although this was my dream job, I used the earnings to fund my thriving lingerie and dessert business called: @cakezncake & @figure8.lingerie,” Diala wrote.

The aspiring business owner has since come under scrutiny online as some applauded the airline’s response while others supported the former flight attendant’s cheeky clip.

‘Of course she deserved to lose her job. She has chosen to violate Alaska Airlines’ social media policy, which ALL Alaska employees must follow if hired. She fired herself,” one TikTok user commented.

Another wrote: ‘There’s nothing wrong with twerking for work, just wrong doing it in uniform on company property.’

‘It’s a shame that Alaska Airlines is so overly sensitive. We will make sure we support you through GFM,” said another.
