Comedian Tommy Little traded punchlines for punches this week when he took on boxer Tim Tszyu, who lasted just 11 seconds before the world champion broke one of his ribs.

Little, 38, boxed against Tszyu as part of his ‘KeBoxing’ challenge, with the star of The Project planning to eat a kebab before each round.

Dressed up as a kebab for the fight, Little also got a tattoo on his wrist that read ‘1-0’, but it didn’t make much of a difference once he stepped into the ring.

In a three-round bout where punches to the head were forbidden, it took the interim WBO super welterweight champion the blink of an eye to drop him to the ribcage with a stiff right hand.

Little seemed to be in severe pain as he writhed on the canvas, but somehow he kept his sense of humour.

“I’m going to leave the judges out and award you the win,” he told Tszyu.

Afterward, the comedian was checked by a doctor, who told him his injury was more serious than expected.

“Yeah, my rib is broken,” he told Carrie Bickmore on their Hit Network radio show Carrie and Tommy.

“I can’t cough, sneeze, burp, fart, have sex, take a deep breath — so I went for a scan.

“Good news, lung not collapsed.”

Bickmore joked that staying in the ring for just 11 seconds was “pretty p*** weak,” and Little agreed that he hoped he’d last longer.

‘I’ve heard it [the rib] burst when he hit me,” he said.

“And when everyone was singing for me to get up, I thought, ‘You have to get up,’ and then I thought a rib was going to go through my lungs.

“I love this show, but I shouldn’t die.”

Tszyu will defend his interim WBO super-welterweight title against Mexican Carlos Ocampo in three weeks on the Gold Coast.

However, there are some doubts about the event after the 28-year-old was rushed to hospital on Sunday for emergency surgery involving a dog biting his right arm.

Tszyu’s management is confident the fight will continue and described the injury as “superficial.”
