TV chef Ina Garten is hit with a hilarious Facebook hack that saw her page post OLIVE GARDEN recipe
Beloved hostess and chef Ina Garten’s Facebook account was recently hacked and spammed with content that the high-end Barefoot Contessa would probably never intentionally promote.
A few days ago, Garten’s Facebook page posted an “Olive Garden copycat” recipe for Chicken Scampi, tipping off its fans and followers that something might be wrong.
The recipe’s ingredients were a far cry from the usual Hamptons hostess lineup, which often includes ingredients such as fresh lobster, orange marmalade, and expensive liquors.
The Olive Garden recipe was posted to celebrity chef Ina Garten’s Facebook page during the hack
Fans quickly realized that the post didn’t fit Garten and her brand at all
Eventually, Garten’s team got the case and the issue was quickly resolved with Facebook’s parent company, Meta
Fans quickly realized the post was totally inappropriate for Garten and its brand and assumed it was a hack.
How do you know Ina Garten’s Facebook account has been hacked: Instead of being her Hamptons residence, Cosmo-sipping, “good olive oil” herself, she’s suddenly become your Jell-o salad-making great-aunt from Iowa who always posts Olive Garden copycat recipes,” Emily Pressman wrote Twitter.
Eventually, Garten’s team got the case and the issue was quickly resolved with Facebook’s parent company, Meta.
“Thanks to everyone who alerted me that my Facebook page has been hacked, and t Meta for helping us get our page back!” Ina wrote from her official FB account.
‘I will continue to post my favorite recipes here and read all of your wonderful comments. xx ina.’
To further illustrate that Olive Garden may not be her usual abode, Garten unveiled her newly renovated kitchen a few months ago, complete with a $17,550 stove, perfectly arranged pots, and elegant decor.
The celebrity chef, 75, took to Instagram to share the stunning transformation at her home in New York’s East Hampton.
She said the update was long overdue, as she hadn’t refreshed her private workspace in over two decades.
Although Ina records her Food Network shows in her shed, she said, “It’s so much fun testing recipes in my new kitchen.”

In the caption, Ina wrote, “During the pandemic, I gave myself a project to renovate my kitchen, which I actually hadn’t done in 25 years!!”

Garten is known for regularly cooking with ultra-expensive ingredients — and she once roasted a chateaubriand to make sandwiches for a picnic for one of her shows.
The star, who has written more than a dozen Barefoot Contessa cookbooks dating back to 1999, also champions Poliane sourdough bread and regularly tells her avid fans to make sure she’s getting a “really good” version of a store-bought ingredient. to buy.
However, last year Ina changed her tune after a ‘crazy’ time in lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic.
The chef released her book “Go-To Dinners” in 2022, which focused on easy, simple dinners for the family.
“Cooking during the pandemic got pretty crazy, even for me, so I came up with all kinds of ways to get dinner on the table with the least amount of stress,” Garten said in an Instagram post at the time.
