Donald Trump will appoint Florida Senator Marco Rubio as secretary of state, sources tell DailyMail.com.
Rubio, who was elected to the Senate in 2010, is considered a foreign policy hawk and will guide Trump’s prowess on the world stage.
He is currently the top Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee and was considered for a spot on Trump’s short list for vice president earlier this year.
The son of Cuban immigrants, Rubio has built his brand in Washington as a tough opponent for Iran and China.
Trump is determined to end Russia’s war in Ukraine on the first day of his second term as president.
And the Middle East, plunged into chaos amid Israel’s conflict with Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran, will prove challenging as China continues its efforts to sabotage the US.
Rubio unsuccessfully ran for president against Trump in 2016 in a crowded field of Republican hopefuls.
And although the two sparred during the primaries, Rubio has been tested for Trump on the campaign trail in recent weeks.

The days of Trump calling Rubio “Little Marco” and ridiculing him appear to be a thing of the past.
Rubio recently said that Trump’s brash language could win him the presidency, because candidates who use emotional words get more votes in times of crisis.
That proved true when Trump captured all seven swing states and won the popular vote for the Republicans for the first time in decades.
Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-Fla., praised Trump’s choice of Rubio.
“Congratulations to our very own SECRETARY OF STATE – who will be the highest serving Hispanic in American history!” he wrote on X.
The selection of the Florida senator comes as Trump works overtime to shape his future Cabinet from his headquarters in Palm Beach, Florida.
The newly elected president earlier Monday named top immigration adviser Stephen Miller as his deputy chief of staff for policy as his administration focused on an unprecedented crackdown on the border.
Miller was the architect of Trump’s immigration plan during his first term and will be on the front lines of the newly elected president’s plan to carry out the largest mass deportation in history.
The decision comes less than 24 hours after Trump selected former Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Tom Homan as his border czar.
He tapped Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., for the position of U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
And Rep. Michael Waltz of Florida will serve as his national security adviser.
Waltz, a former Army Green Beret, has established himself as one of the top China hawks in the House of Representatives and was elected after Trump’s busy day strengthening his Cabinet.
Among the several China-related bills that Waltz has co-sponsored are measures intended to reduce U.S. dependence on crucial minerals mined in China. He is also known as a NATO skeptic during his work during the war in Ukraine.
Waltz, like other White House advisers, would not require Senate confirmation, as department heads do. Trump has already indicated he will bypass the Senate through recess appointments.
Trump had mixed luck with four national security advisers during his first term.
Michael Flynn, HR McMaster, Robert O’Brien and John Bolton all served in this role.
Rubio recently called for an investigation into Kamala Harris’ Vice President Tim Walz after a romance with the CCP official’s daughter
The Minnesota governor and Kamala Harris’ former running mate had the affair while he was living and teaching in China in 1989.
Walz became romantically involved with Jenna Wang, 59, who claims the VP hopefully showered her with gifts and seduced her at his poky staff compound in Guangdong province.
The couple was sexually active, traveled together and went on dates often, Wang told DailyMail.com, and they hid it all from her father, who was then a high-ranking CCP official.

After the close ties between Walz and Wang came to light, Republican Senator Marco Rubio of Florida demanded to know more.
He said Walz should be investigated for his relationship with Wang because “voters deserve to know.”
