Tulisa Contostavlos’ friends have revealed they are desperate to find her a partner to end her three years of celibacy.

The NDubz star, 38, came out as demisexual on I’m A Celebrity last month – an orientation based on emotional connection rather than physical attraction – and admitted she had been celibate for three years.

Thinking back to her epiphany in the Jungle, Tulisa shared The Guardian: ‘The experiences I’ve had have pushed me so far back into my shell. I only hang out with people I already know. I’ve been recycling ex-boyfriends for the past ten years. A new person coming in has no chance.

“I just ask myself, ‘Would I keep this person in my life for the rest of my life, even as a friend?’ And if I don’t have that feeling, I wouldn’t want them as a lover.

‘I don’t think this will leave me an isolated and lonely individual for the rest of my life. What is meant for me does not pass me by.’

But her best friend Michelle McKenna didn’t seem convinced by the former X Factor judge’s demisexual orientation and three years of celibacy.

Michelle, who is in a relationship with Tulisa’s boyfriend Daniel Johnson, previously told MailOnline: ‘She needs someone in her life, it needs to be over soon, she needs to meet a really nice gentleman.

“She’s been alone for a while and it’s really time for her to find someone.”

Tulisa has a string of controversial boyfriends from Justin Edwards who leaked their sex tape in 2010 and was branded a ‘homewrecker’ due to her relationship with Premier League footballer Danny Simpson.

After their breakup, Fazer began dating Ashley Emma Havelin, with whom he shares three children.

Before Fazer, Tulisa dated Justin Edwards in 2010, who later leaked their sex tape online and ultimately ruined her gig as a judge on X-Factor after feeling like she was “virtually raped” every time she appeared on the show.

She later became embroiled in a ‘homewrecker’ scandal in which it was claimed she started dating former Bristol City footballer Danny Simpson while he was still with his ex-girlfriend – she and Simpson, 37, both successfully sued for defamation .

Her most recent confirmed relationship was with David King, a music producer and cousin of singer Cher, in 2017, when the pair reportedly “connected while working together in the studio.”

Tulisa was previously in a relationship with Justin Edwards (R), who leaked their sex tape in 2010, prompting the singer to seek legal action against her ex when the tape was released in 2012.

Her friend Michelle’s comments came days before the pair had a huge row at the Australian hotel they were staying in after Tulisa became the third star to be voted out of I’m A Celebrity.

Angered by the way Michelle had managed her Instagram account while in the Jungle, Tulisa confronted her friend about her ‘unprofessionalism’ and subsequently left Australia five days early, reneging on her commitments to ITV and not appearing on the aftershow appeared.

She told The Guardian: ‘I came out still followed by cameras, all tits and teeth, and it wasn’t until I was alone that I felt this introvert overload. I hyperventilated and cried. It was too much.’

Michelle and her partner Daniel had flown from Down Under to greet Tulisa from the famous I’m A Celebrity bridge and the trio were due to spend the next five days together on the Gold Coast until the final, but they flew home early under a cloud of mystery.

Tulisa and Michelle – an urban dance artist – have been best friends since the I Need You singer moved to Manchester two years ago for a ‘better quality of life’ and visit each other every other day.

The star bought a new-build villa in Congleton, Cheshire, to be closer to her best friends.
