Fox News host Tucker Carlson has once again defended incarcerated influencer Andrew Tate, praising him as “really smart” and “really real.”
Carlson’s comments came before it was announced that Tate, 36, has been denied bail in a Romanian court, where they ruled today that he should remain behind bars on sex trafficking charges.
The self-declared misogynist was arrested with his brother on December 29 on suspicion of human trafficking, rape and forming an organized crime group to exploit women.
Ahead of news of Tate’s bail denial today, the right-wing commentator told the Full Send Podcast that he thought his imprisonment was a “conspiracy” and that he didn’t believe Tate’s message was threatening.
This isn’t Carlson’s first time defending Tate. Earlier he claimed his arrest as “clearly designed” and a “human rights violation”.

Speaking to the Full Send Podcast, Carlson said, “First of all, he’s very smart. That’s totally real. 100%. And I’m also 54, so I’m really old, so there are parts of what he’s saying that are so far out of my world and context and experience.
He added: ‘I’ll say it – I’m just being honest – there are a few that I miss about Andrew Tate, but the spirit that animates Andrew Tate is very clear and very clear and it’s not a malevolent spirit at all.
Andrew Tate’s core message is respect for yourself. Act like you’re worth something. To accomplish. Do something. Get the fuck off the couch. Put down the porn. For example, do something with your life.
Carlson added, “I feel like this is the best message anyone can give. And I mean, that’s how I read Andrew Tate’s post. So of course it tells you all about the people in charge who are threatening. How threatening is that?’
Carlson then claimed that the same people who live on “Pedo Island with Epstein” and “the same people who were friends with Harvey Weinstein” claimed to protect women by punishing Tate.
Following his bail refusal today, Tate appeared in court where he hoped he would be released after nearly three months behind bars and placed under house arrest.
However, his application was rejected by the judge this afternoon. The influencer said he was “disappointed” by the decision as he had “high hopes” of being reunited with his family, before adding that his lawyers will appeal the decision.

A Tate spokesperson told MailOnline earlier today: “Unfortunately today the Romanian court system has rejected Andrew Tate’s bail application. We are disappointed in this outcome as we had high hopes for Andrew to be reunited with his family.
His legal team will appeal this decision within 48 hours.
The court ruling can be seen below:
‘[The Court] Rejects the request to replace the measure of preventive arrest with the measure of judicial supervision on bail, formulated by the defendant TEA, as inadmissible in principle. With right of appeal within 48 hours after communication.’
Tate’s legal team said they will appeal the decision to deny the influencer’s bail. If this appeal is also rejected, he will remain behind bars at least until March 29.
Tate, 36, was arrested with his brother Tristan on December 29 on suspicion of human trafficking, rape and forming an organized crime group to exploit women.

Commenting on the judge’s decision, Eugen Vidineac, lawyer for Tate, said today: “At first sight, the decision of the court is illegal because the principle of inadmissibility raises a question of the impossibility of the judicial action, a principle which cannot be applied in this case.’
Tate’s brother Tristan will attend his bail hearing tomorrow.
Their two female accomplices, Luana Radu, 32 – a former Bucharest police officer – and Georgiana Naghel, 28 – a model who is believed to have been dating Tate for nearly a year – will also attend bail hearings tomorrow and Thursday. None of the four has yet been formally charged.
