Trump will attend Steelers-Jets game on Sunday – but will he sit with New York or Pittsburgh owners?

According to two sources, Donald Trump will attend the Pittsburgh Steelers versus New York Jets game on Sunday, but it will give campaign workers a major headache.

Should he sit with his friend and ambassador Woody Johnson, owner of the Jets?

Or does he risk alienating tens of thousands of voters in the critical swing state of Pennsylvania if he doesn’t join the Rooney family, owners of the Steelers, in their box at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh?

Everything matters in such exciting elections.

Trump will hold a rally in nearby Latrobe on Saturday evening and will man the frying station of a McDonald’s in Philadelphia the next day, a stunt designed to raise more questions about Kamala Harris’ summer job in the 1980s.

DailyMail.com has learned that Donald Trump plans to attend the Pittsburgh Steelers versus New York Jets football game at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday

And it illustrates how the Trump campaign is completely focused on Pennsylvania.

It is the most important of the seven battleground states, with 19 electoral college votes, and a DailyMail.com/JL Partners poll this week showed the two candidates in a dead heat.

Two sources told DailyMail.com that Trump plans to attend Sunday’s football match.

‘The only problem now is: where is he? With the Rooneys or in Woody Johnson’s box and pissing off all of Pittsburgh,” said a source familiar with the question.

However, there is a problem.

Art Rooney II, the team president, was a donor to Joe Biden. And his father Dan was Barack Obama’s ambassador to Ireland.

The stakes couldn’t be higher.

Pennsylvania narrowly elected Trump in 2016, but switched to Joe Biden in 2020, with just over 70,000 votes.

Blue-collar Pittsburgh is a major battlefield within the battlefield. It votes Democratic, but is surrounded by deep-red counties that are crucial to Trump’s hopes of winning the state and therefore critical to his chances of winning the White House.

Trump held a town hall near Philadelphia on Monday evening and plans several visits in the final weeks of the campaign.

John Fredericks, radio host and Pennsylvania delegate to the Republican National Convention, said there was only one choice for Trump.

“I know Woody Johnson was his ambassador and he’s from New York,” he said, “but if you’re going to a Steelers game, you better be in the Pittsburgh box.”

A football match would fit Trump’s macho MAGA message as he faces Harris, who is running to become the first female president.

And former Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown fueled rumors on social media that Trump would attend the game.

He retweeted a message from Trump confidante Laura Loomer raising the idea, and added his own message that read “Trump x AB,” followed by an icon of white and black hands clasping each other.

Trump is known as a football fan. And even owned a franchise, the New Jersey Generals, in the short-lived US Football League in the 1980s.
