- Trump spoke with Dr. Phil for an hour about the forces against him
- He said the “hardest part” is the impact on his family
Former President Donald Trump speaks in a new interview with Dr. Phil McGraw on ‘dark forces’ he claims are arrayed against him, then claims his darkest moments involve what wife Melania reads in the press.
The TV host with a degree in psychology sat with the former president for an hour and asked him about lonely moments “when you’re home alone” or “driving in a car.”
“What is the hardest and darkest moment you can think of during this journey?” Dr. Phil asked him on streaming channel Merit+.
That prompted Trump to talk about “evil forces” that he believes control President Joe Biden.
‘You have to be very strong. You are fighting very evil forces and they are very smart forces. There are people who control Biden. Correct. I think I know who they are for the most part. But there are people who control him. They are very smart, very energetic. Possibly they are true believers, which is their sick ideology. But you have to be smart and have confidence,” Trump told him.
‘It’s a psychological interview you’re doing. You’re like my psychiatrist,” Trump told his interviewer. Dr. Phil called it a no-holds-barred interview from Trump’s home at Mar-a-Lago.
“There are people controlling him,” Donald Trump said of President Joe Biden in an interview with TV host Dr. Phil McGraw
Dr. Phil tried to probe Trump again on the darkness he faces, in his first interview since a Manhattan jury convicted him on 34 counts in the Stormy Daniels trial.
“When the crowd isn’t cheering, what’s the darkest moment you think about?” he asked.
“The hardest thing for me is family,” Trump responded. ‘It’s hard for my family. I have a very good wife, and she reads this nonsense,” he said.
Several of Trump’s family members attended the trial. Among them were sons Don Jr. and Eric, and daughter Tiffany, although Melania Trump did not attend his trial, which resulted in a conviction on charges of falsifying company records in connection with paying off the porn star.
Trump said former first lady Melania Trump ‘reads this c***’, in a rare acknowledgment of the campaign coverage’s impact on her
Dr. Phil’s first comment to Trump was that “you look good,” prompting a response in which Trump called “corrupt judges” and “corrupt politicians.”
The interviewer put Trump at ease with an early attack on the government’s prosecutions against him.
‘They have to stop this. They need to stop chasing you,” he told Trump.
Trump spent part of the interview challenging a gag order imposed by Judge Juan Merchan in the case. Both he and McGraw ended up talking about witnesses and potential witnesses in the case.
McGraw said the judge “muzzled” the case and shot at former Trump fixer Michael Cohen, a key witness.
Trump complained about the pressure on former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg, who both sides had considered testifying.
Trump also dismissed the defamation suit against E. Jean Carroll, again claiming he had “no idea” who she is, despite a jury finding him liable for sexual abuse.
He said he had “no idea who she is.” I had to pay $91 million and that judge was just as bad, just as corrupt.”
In the hush money cast, in which Trump never took a position, ‘I would have liked to testify. I wanted. “I’m telling you, they had to stop me,” he said.
He also complimented Judge Aileen Cannon, the judge he appointed who is overseeing his case with classified documents. He called her “a very brilliant judge in Florida.”
