Trump surrogates say the Republican primary is OVER as MAGA super PAC launches website for supporters to pick the best ‘vice president’ from the GOP debate stage

Former President Donald Trump’s top surrogates proclaim the Republican primary is over and mock the lineup during Wednesday’s Republican primary debate in Milwaukee.

Kari Lake, speaking to DailyMail.com on Tuesday outside the debate site, the Fiserv Forum, called the debate a “little league game.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who had just called Trump before speaking to DailyMail.com, confessed to telling the ex-president she had never heard of some of his rivals for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

“I told him I was shocked,” she said. “I saw an image with their pictures and names and I felt a little bad. There are a few I’ve never heard of. I don’t know who they are.’

The Trump-focused MAGA PAC launched a website — VPDebate2024.com — ahead of Wednesday’s debate asking supporters to pick Trump’s vice president from the eight candidates who will take the podium.

Trump surrogate Kari Lake told DailyMail.com outside the debate site in Milwaukee on Tuesday that the debate is just a “little league game”

The Republican presidential candidates who qualified for the first GOP debate are Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former Vice President Mike Pence, former Amb. Nikki Haley, Senator Tim Scott, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, and former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson.

Trump skips the debate, which is being conducted by the Republican National Committee and Fox News Channel, with whom Trump has been feuding.

The ex-resident leads DeSantis by 41 points in the Polling average from RealClearPolitics.

Both Lake and Greene pointed to those numbers and determined that Trump was unstoppable.

“This isn’t a race guys, the primaries are over,” Lake said. He’s already been nominated. He’s so far ahead that no one can catch up with him.’

Greene, speaking to DailyMail.com in the lobby of a downtown Milwaukee hotel, echoed the sentiment.

‘I’ve been saying it from the start. It is over. It’s pointless. It’s a waste of donor money. It’s just — everyone just needs to get behind President Trump. It’s over,” she said.

The Georgia lawmaker said she just called her “favorite president.”

“He’s in a good mood, he’s just so funny, he always drives me crazy,” she said. “But we were talking about his polls. And so he wins these primaries by almost 68 percent, depends on the day, right? It changes a bit. And then there are about 12 people in this race. So this case is over.’

Instead of attending the debate, Trump has pre-recorded an interview with former Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson that will simultaneously air online Wednesday night.

Lake applauded the move, claiming that Fox News “has already made it known that … they’re for everyone but Trump.”

“So why would President Trump go on Fox News and give them ratings and know that the moderators are against him if he gets a chance to sit down with Tucker Carlson,” Lake said.

“Whereas it’s not six people trying to take down Trump with a poll of zero or three percent and you let the moderators fight him and then give ratings to Fox. It’s just crazy,” she said.

Technically, there will be eight candidates at the debate stage — and they had to receive at least 1 percent support in three national polls or 1 percent in two national polls and two polls from an early contest state.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who had just called Trump before speaking to DailyMail.com, said she had never heard of some of his rivals for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

After skipping Wednesday’s debate, Trump is expected to head to Atlanta on Thursday to face charges of election interference in Fulton County.

Lake suggested that any candidate’s breakthrough moment on the debate stage would soon be forgotten thanks to Trump.

“I think he turned himself in on Thursday morning for these false charges,” she said.

“I don’t think a lot of people will be talking Thursday morning about what’s going on here during this little league game,” she continued.

“I think they will be talking about the ridiculous way our administration has been armed — that Joe Biden has armed his allies and our administration against his leading opponent in the most egregious case of election interference our country has ever seen,” Lake said. added.
