Trump slams ‘DISGUSTING’ law that is ruining Democrat-run cities

Republican candidate Donald Trump has taken to his own social media page to criticize marijuana laws that allow smokers to light up in public, similar to what is allowed in some places in New York City.

The staunch conservative told his followers on Trump Social that if elected, he plans to “make America safe again” by passing laws banning the use of cannabis and marijuana in public.

In New York, adults 21 and older can smoke or vape cannabis in most places where tobacco smoking is permitted.

Trump also indicated that while he supports legalizing marijuana in Florida under Amendment 3, he still has concerns about how it will be used across the state.

The former president noted that someone found carrying “personal amounts” of marijuana should not be a criminal in one state, while its use is legal in other states.

“As everyone knows, I have been, and will be again, the most respected LAW & ORDER President in American history. We will take back our streets by being tough and smart on violent crime, and all other types of crime.

‘In Florida, like so many other states that have already given their approval, personal amounts of marijuana will be legalized for adults with Amendment 3. Whether people like it or not, this will happen by voter approval, so it has to be done right.

“We need the state legislature to responsibly pass laws that prohibit its use in public places so that we don’t smell marijuana everywhere we go, as we do in many Democrat-run cities.”

‘At the same time, someone shouldn’t be allowed to be a criminal in Florida, when it’s legal in so many other states.

“We don’t need to ruin lives and waste taxpayer dollars arresting adults who are carrying personal quantities of it, and no one should have to mourn a loved one who has died from fentanyl laced marijuana. We will make America SAFE again!” he wrote.

Trump, who votes near his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, previously declined to clarify his position on the issue.

With his latest statement, he appears to be taking a stand against Gov. Ron DeSantis and most of the state’s Republican leaders, who want to reject the proposal.

But his belief that cannabis should be legalized responsibly in Florida isn’t the only policy that stands in stark contrast to that of other leaders.

Earlier this week, he indicated he might vote to repeal Florida’s six-week abortion ban when it comes up for a referendum later this year, continuing his delicate dance around a major election issue.

In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, he gave a preview of his voting announcement by saying he didn’t think six weeks was enough.

Trump spoke to DailyMail.com about a range of topics, from Kamala Harris and the 2024 campaign to his family and life after nearly being shot by an assassin

Trump stoked concerns among his anti-abortion allies last week with this message, in which he used the language of opponents by referring to women and their “reproductive rights”

But he avoided using the presidential veto if a nationwide federal ban came to his desk, even though his running mate had said he would do so.

During his time in office, Trump reveled in being the most pro-life president in history, taking credit for ending federal protections for abortion by appointing to the Supreme Court the conservative justices who overturned Roe v. Wade.

This time, he’s trying to please both parties on one of the most divisive issues in the election, by arguing that it’s up to the states to make their own laws.

“Well, I know, but I want more than six weeks,” he said in his ornate living room at Mar-a-Lago. “I want more than six weeks.

“I think six weeks is a mistake. And I will express that soon, but I want more than six weeks.

“And in Florida we have a six-week program. I think you vote on that, and I think it should be longer than six weeks.”

Trump has expressed reservations about such an early ban in the past, but has so far dodged questions about his voting record in the Florida referendum.
