Trump accused Biden of

Trump accused Biden of “giving” funds to Iran and said US foreign policy caused the terrorist invasion. “Joe Biden BETRAYED Israel,” Trump said, saying he would “once again stand firm on the State of Israel.” He said: “Joe Biden turned it all upside down and gave billions of dollars to the world’s leading sponsor of terror, throwing Israel over to bloodthirsty terrorists and jihadists.” Trump called it a “$6 billion ransom.”

He was referring to an agreement that provided a waiver for the transfer of $6 billion in frozen Iranian funds from South Korea. Foreign Secretary Anthony Blinken said Sunday that Hamas “would not be as close as it is without the support it has received from Iran over the years,” but also said that “we have yet to see evidence that Iran directed or was behind. this specific attack”. Trump also blamed the attack on “the perceived weakness of our country with an incompetent and corrupt leader, Joe Biden, who is laughed at around the world.” Trump joined other Republicans in hammering Biden over the new turmoil in the Middle East.

Some regional experts said Hamas may have timed the attack in part to try to derail negotiations for a planned normalization of relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel. Trump, in his scheduled remarks, suspended his predecessor's moves, known as the Abraham Accords, to normalize relations between Israel and some of its Arab neighbors.
