Trump shares sweet message about his children after Republican National Convention – despite Barron missing his dad’s big night

Donald Trump shared a heartfelt message about his children after the Republican National Convention, despite his son Barron missing his father’s big night.

The presidential candidate attended the rally in Milwaukee this week to officially accept the Republican nomination.

On the final night of the convention, he was joined by four of his five children: Ivanka Trump, Tiffany Trump and his two eldest sons Donald Jr. and Eric Trump.

They were all accompanied by their spouses and partners, although the youngest child, Barron, 18, was nowhere to be seen.

However, his absence had little effect on Trump, who spoke glowingly about his family on Truth Social.

“How good were my kids at the convention?” he wrote. “I’m proud of them all.”

Barron had previously been nominated as a delegate by the Florida Republican Party, but two days later he turned down the position through his mother’s office.

“While Barron is honored to be selected as a Representative of Florida by the Republican Party, he regrets that he will be withdrawing due to prior commitments,” Melania Trump said in a statement to MSNBC.

Still, he received a pat on the back from his father during his 92-minute acceptance speech — the longest ever recorded at a conference.

Three of Barron’s brothers, Don Jr., Eric and Tiffany, served as delegates for the Sunshine State, with the brothers delivering individual speeches on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

Meanwhile, Barron’s niece, Kai, 17, was one of the convention’s big stars, speaking onstage, introducing her father, Don Jr., and speaking fondly of her grandfather.

Barron’s mother, known for being extremely protective of her son, appeared at the convention, as the Trump campaign announced, just before her husband’s speech.

Of all his siblings, except Tiffany, Barron has always remained the most private.

In January 2024, he mourned the loss of his grandmother, Melania’s mother Amalija, who passed away at the age of 78. Barron was said to have a close bond with his mother’s family.

During his father’s trial, in which he was found guilty of falsifying business records to pay a porn star he allegedly had sex with when Barron was only a few months old, Trump was allowed to leave the trial to attend his high school graduation ceremony.

On July 9, Barron made his debut at a Trump rally in Miami, where his father praised him.

“That’s the first time he’s done it. That’s the first time, right? You’re pretty popular — he’s probably more popular than Don and Eric. We need to talk about this,” the former Apprentice host told the audience.
