Former President Donald Trump appeared to threaten Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell for backing Democrat-backed bills.
In a post on his Truth Social page late Friday, former President McConnell criticized McConnell for approving “Trillions of Dollars in Democrat-sponsored bills without even the slightest bit of negotiation.”
He then mused that he believed McConnel was doing this to bully him “because he hates Donald J. Trump and he knows I’m strongly against them,” or because he “believes in the bogus and highly destructive Green New Deal, and is willing to take the country down with him.”
“In any case, neither reason is unacceptable,” the ex-president wrote, before claiming, “He has a DEATH WISH.”
Trump then insulted McConnell’s wife, former Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, who was born in Taiwan, and said McConnell should “seek immediate help and advice from his loving wife, Coco Chow, of China.”

The ex-president did not specify which bills he criticized McConnell for approving, but had previously criticized the minority Senate leader for approving “a budget without any negotiation and without taking back one of the trillions of dollars he gets a few.” other Republicans to agree to.”
The contingency agreement provides funding for the federal government through December 16, and provides $12.4 billion in military and diplomatic aid to Ukraine.
But the post also comes just days after McConnell expressed his support for the bipartisan Electoral Count Act, which would change the way Congress counts electoral votes and make it difficult to challenge state-certified election results.
“I will proudly support the legislation, provided nothing more than technical changes are made as it stands,” McConnell announced on the Senate floor on Tuesday, much to the surprise of some of his colleagues.
“The chaos that came to a head on January 6 last year certainly underlined the need for an update,” he added.

Those comments deepened the widening schism between the two Republican party figureheads ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.
In private, rolling stone reports, Trump has told some of his confidants that if Republicans fail to take back both the House and Senate, he expects “all those f****** RINOs” to blame him for high-profile GOP losses.
In these complaints, a source familiar with the case said, Trump has repeatedly singled out McConnell as someone he believes is actively sabotaging Republicans’ chances of winning in the Senate.
