Trump says Melania’s ‘mystery’ is part of her ‘beauty’: Ex-president tells Megyn Kelly his wife doesn’t need to be ‘out there’ and has ‘self-confidence’ when asked why she’s kept a low profile

Donald Trump has said his wife Melania’s mysterious presence is part of her “beauty” as he told Megyn Kelly about the enigmatic former first lady.

The former president, 76, sat down with Kelly for a SiriusXM interview that aired Thursday, in which he shared insight into both Melania and his youngest son Barron, 17.

“I think part of the beauty is that mystery,” Trump said when asked what people misunderstand about his wife of more than 20 years, before comparing her to Hollywood legend Greta Garbo.

‘She was a great actress, but she was very withdrawn and never did an interview. “I don’t see Melania that way, but she’s introspective and she’s confident… She doesn’t need to be out there (to be interviewed),” he explained.

‘She has confidence. She has a lot of self-confidence.’

Trump also provided an update on Barron, saying the teen is doing “very well” and is a “very good athlete.”

‘Barron is very tall, about six eight. And he’s a good boy. He’s a handsome boy. He is a great student, a very good student…we are now thinking about college,” he added.

Although Trump and Kelly don’t have the most civilized history together, the two commiserated over Melania’s exclusion from Vogue magazine.

“It’s so sad, but she doesn’t care, she’s been on the cover of magazines for a long time, and she was on the cover of Vogue before,” Trump claimed.

“She was actually very friends with Anna Wintour, but once I ran for politics that was the end of it, and that’s OK.”

Despite his recent charges, Trump said Melania, who has stayed off the campaign trail this year, is doing very well. He describes the former model as a “very strong, even crazy, good woman.”

“She’s a very calm person, I think that’s what people like about her,” Trump told Kelly.

When asked about the former first couple’s at-home moments, such as their dinners, Trump responded, “Our dinners are nice dinners, our dinners are like people dinners… we actually get along really well.”

Melania Trump has rarely been seen in public over the past year.

She has said she supports her husband’s bid for a second term in the White House, but she hasn’t appeared at one of his campaign events in 10 months — not since he launched his 2024 bid at Mar-a-Lago announced on November 15. 2022.

Melania has also not been by Trump’s side during his court hearings as he fights multiple legal battles.

It was a productive conversation for Trump and Kelly, who have a notoriously rocky history.

Trump claimed she had “blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever” during the August 2015 primary debate that she moderated.

But it appears the feud is now water under the bridge, as Kelly released clips of her sit-down interview with Trump on Thursday morning.

Kelly had expressed her excitement and assured viewers that the interview would be nothing short of fascinating.

“I’m really looking forward to this,” she said in the video. “It’s going to be great, it’s going to be tough and it’s going to be tough, but it’s going to be good and hopefully we’ll both enjoy it.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Trump said that while he thinks Joe Biden is “grossly incompetent,” he does not feel he is too old to be president.

With just three years separating the two 2024 frontrunners, many are concerned about the increasing age of presidential candidates — as well as other leaders in Congress.

Polls show that more than three-quarters of Americans believe Biden, 80, is too old to stay in office for another four years.

But Trump, 77, told Megyn Kelly in a SiriusXM interview on Triumph Channel that age is not the problem.

‘I have a lot of friends in their eighties. I have friends… who are in their nineties and they are sharp as a tack. Just, I mean, I would say, about what they used to be. No, not old. He is incompetent,” Trump said of Biden.

If Biden were re-elected, he would break his own record as the oldest ever inaugurated US president at 82 years old.

Trump is the oldest president after Biden. He was inaugurated at the age of 70. He defeated former President Ronald Reagan by about a year.

“Age is interesting because some people are very sharp and some people lose it, but you also lose it at 40 and 50,” Trump told Kelly. ‘But no, he’s not too old at all. He is downright incompetent.

“Look at some of the great world leaders, they were in their eighties and they did – I mean, Churchill, so many people. They were phenomenal in the ’80s. You know, there’s great wisdom in not being in a position like him, but if you go back 25 years, he wasn’t that sharp either.
