Trump says he’d rather be electrocuted than eaten by a shark ranting about Biden trying to make boats heavier by adding EV batteries
- Trump went after electricity-powered boats
- He said he would be “worried” if he were sitting on top of an electric battery on a sinking ship
- Trump would choose “electrocution every time” over being eaten
Donald Trump would choose electrocution rather than becoming shark bait if he died at sea, the former president said in a bizarre rant during a campaign speech in landlocked Iowa.
Trump made the shocking comment during a lengthy detour on the downside risks of electric batteries and boats.
“But when I sit down, and that boat starts sinking, and I’m sitting on top of a battery, and the water starts coming in — that’s when I get concerned,” Trump said Sunday.
‘But then I look ten meters to the left and there is a shark. So I have a choice between electrocution or shark, you know what I’m going to take? Electrocution. I will suffer electrocution every time. Do we agree?’ Trump said, stumbling over the pronunciation of “electrocution” the first time he said it.
Former President Trump said he would choose electrocution over a shark attack “any time.”
“Every time,” he underlined in a clip shared by Twitter critic Ron Filipkowski.
He made the comments a day before he faced a different kind of threat: the prospect of Judge Arthur Engoron taking a bite out of his real estate empire during the penalty phase of his civil fraud trial.
Trump went after the ‘rogue’ judge while attacking Secretary of State Letitia James.
Trump’s stark diversion over which trip he would make to Davey Jones’ locker came just days after his primetime speech from Michigan to the Republican primary debate, where he also railed against electric cars and complained about driving times and the need for charging.
“People have no idea how bad this will be for the environment too. You know, those batteries when they’re gone and a lot of bad things happen. And if they dig it out of the ground to make those batteries, it will be very bad for the environment,” Trump said in a claim published by the American newspaper The Guardian. New York Times fact-checker called ‘misleading’.

Trump has turned down a role as president in Sharknado 3, it was reported in 2017
He previously addressed what he called the “ridiculous all-electric car hoax” in comments related to a United Auto Workers strike.
“Crooked Joe sold them on his ridiculous ‘all Electric Car Hoax,’” Trump wrote. “Within three years, all these cars will be made in China.”
Trump has signaled a longer-term interest in boats – and sharks.
In 1991, Trump discharged its 281 foot superyacht Trump princess while digging himself out of debt.
In 2017, during his first year in office, the Hollywood Reporter revealed that before announcing his candidacy, Trump had signed on to play the president Sharknado 3.
