Trump says he wants to rename the Gulf of Mexico… and doesn’t rule out using military on Panama Canal and Greenland
Donald Trump did not rule out the use of military force to take the Panama Canal and Greenland and announced a bold plan to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the ‘Gulf of America’.
The president-elect, 78, announced the name change Tuesday morning during a wide-ranging news conference at Mar-a-Lago.
He laid out his vision for the world, took aim at Canada and ripped into President Joe Biden’s climate agenda.
Trump also attacked his nemesis, Special Prosecutor Jack Smith, calling him a “crazy” and demanding that all his criminal cases be dropped.
“He will execute everyone,” he raged before answering questions from the press.
Just thirteen days before the inauguration, he said the United States was entering its “golden age” and will “take off like a rocket” when he gets the keys back to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
He also criticized the crackdown on gas heaters, saying electric heaters were ‘itchy’.
In one notable moment, a reporter asked Trump if he could ensure he would not use “military or economic coercion” to take control of the Panama Canal and Greenland.
As he prepares for his second term, he has stepped up threats in recent weeks to take over both.
In response, Trump said, “No, I can’t give you certainty on either of these two.”
He later said the United States needs Greenland for “national security” and questioned whether Denmark has any legal right or “interest” in the area.
