Trump reveals how he really feels about John Fetterman after unprecedented Mar-a-Lago meeting

President-elect Donald Trump revealed what he really thinks about Democratic Senator John Fetterman after the Pennsylvania senator met him at Mar-a-Lago.

Fetterman flew to Palm Beach, Florida, on Thursday to meet the incoming president at his lavish Florida estate — the first Democratic senator to do so.

Trump won Pennsylvania in the 2024 election after losing the Keystone State to President Joe Biden four years earlier.

‘It was a very interesting meeting. He is a fascinating man and his wife is lovely,” Trump said told Salena Zito of The Washington Examiner after sitting. “They were both awake, and I couldn’t have been more impressed.”

‘He is someone with common sense. He is not liberal or conservative. He’s just a common sense person, and that’s nice,” Trump added.

When Capitol Hill reporters asked Fetterman on Thursday why he decided to meet with the Republican president-elect, he gave them a brutal answer.

“I demand that I should be appointed Pope of Greenland,” Fetterman said.

He also told DailyMail.com in a statement that “President Trump invited me to a meeting, and I accepted.”

“I am the senator for all Pennsylvanians – not just Pennsylvania Democrats,” he continued. “I’ve made it clear that no one is my gatekeeper.”

“I will meet and talk to anyone if it helps me help Pennsylvania and the nation,” Fetterman said.

The Pennsylvania Democrat also recently had dinner with GOP Pennsylvania Sen. Dave McCormick, who defeated Democratic Sen. Bob Casey in the 2024 race.

Fetterman and his wife were accompanied by McCormick and his wife Dina Powell, a Trump administration official.

McCormick also ran in the 2022 Republican Senate primaries, but was defeated by Trump-backed television personality, Dr. Mehmet Oz.

Oz was then defeated by Fetterman, who suffered a stroke just days after the Democratic primaries, keeping him off the campaign trail for part of the summer.

The stroke affected his ability to understand spoken words, so Fetterman has long been helped with a speech-to-text device.

Since taking office in 2023, Fetterman has broken conventional norms.

He checked himself into Walter Reed to deal with severe depression and told the audience about it.

Fetterman has also strongly supported Israel since the October 7 Hamas terror attack, while many Democrats have been vocally pro-Palestinian.

Gisele Fetterman was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and was an undocumented immigrant when she arrived in the United States at the age of seven.

Trump told Zito that he and Fetterman discussed their support for Israel, border security and the geopolitical benefits of acquiring Greenland.

They also discussed Nippon Steel’s bid to buy US Steel, which President Joe Biden blocked.

Trump and Fetterman are both currently against the Japanese takeover of the Pittsburgh-based American steel giant.

Nippon has asked a federal court to reverse Biden’s decision.

Fetterman got his political start as mayor of Braddock, a city in the Pittsburgh area, across the street from one of the largest steel mills in the US.
