Trump nominates Matt Gaetz to be Attorney General in stunning move

Presidential election Donald Trump has named controversial Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz his nominee for attorney general, a move that will undoubtedly outrage Democrats and even shock some Republicans in Washington.

Gaetz is a Republican rabble-rouser who has targeted both Republican members of the House of Representatives and Democrats as he has remained a close ally of the ex-president.

“It is my great honor to announce that Congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida is hereby nominated to serve as Attorney General of the United States,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“Matt is a highly gifted and tenacious attorney, trained at William & Mary College of Law, who has distinguished himself in Congress through his focus on achieving much-needed reforms at the Department of Justice,” he continued.

“Few issues in America are more important than ending the partisan weaponization of our justice system. “Matt will end the armed government, protect our borders, dismantle criminal organizations, and restore Americans’ deeply shattered faith and trust in the Department of Justice,” he continued.
