Trump mocks Biden for not being able to walk down stairs in softball TV interview with former aide Larry Kudlow where he rails against dishwasher standards and skates through indictment question

Former President Donald Trump mocked President Joe Biden for not being able to talk or climb stairs in an interview Thursday with his former National Economic Council director Larry Kudlow on Fox Business Network.

Kudlow came armed with charts and graphs to talk about how Trump’s economic policies have outperformed Biden’s.

Trump, sitting with Kudlow at his golf resort in Bedminster, New Jersey, on Wednesday, came prepared with a slew of insults to hurl at Biden, and new complaints about standards for dishwashers and showers.

At the start of the sit-down, Kudlow asked Trump to respond to his indictment in Fulton County, Georgia, on Monday on allegations related to his attempt to overturn the results of that state’s 2020 presidential election.

‘Of course, it’s a witch hunt. It is a continuation of a witch hunt. They want to silence you,” Trump lamented, adding that it was a “disgusting situation.”

The indictment was his fourth this year – and means the court hearings fit into a busy campaign schedule.

While Trump has to get past the Republican primaries – although he is about 40 points ahead nationally from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the Real Clear Politics polling average — on Thursday his focus was on his potential general election rival, 80-year-old Biden.

“If you look at him, he can’t put two sentences together, he doesn’t know where he is,” Trump said. “He can’t walk up a flight of stairs, much less down a flight of stairs.”

Biden has tripped over the steps of Air Force One several times.

After tripping over a sandbag in June, he uses Air Force One’s shorter flight of stairs more often to get on and off the presidential plane.

In June 2020, Trump was mocked for tiptoeing down a slope, which he later said was slippery.

In the Fox Business interview, Trump also said he didn’t like Biden taking hits from “MAGA” Republicans, which the Democrat has been doing since last year’s midterms.

‘He doesn’t understand what MAGA means. Now if you asked him to define MAGA or say what MAGA is, he couldn’t say “Make American Great Again,” Trump claimed. He always says MAGA, those MAGA people, but if you say “What does MAGA stand for?” he couldn’t tell you that.’

Trump also hovered that it was Biden who embarrassed the United States on the world stage.

“We have a country that is a laughingstock around the world,” Trump said. “We have a president who can’t represent us well, he goes to meetings abroad and makes a fool of himself.”

“He’s a fool,” Trump continued.

“And I can imagine President Xi, all these leaders I’ve come to know so well, Macron, they’re laughing at us,” Trump said, dropping the presidents of China and France by name. “And this is what we have and we’re stuck with it.”

Both Trump and Kudlow complained about Biden’s green energy initiatives, but Trump took particular offense at the administration’s attempt to make appliances more environmentally friendly.

“When you buy a new house, you have water that won’t come out,” Trump lamented. “Most of the country has water in abundance – called rain from heaven and it comes straight from heaven – beautiful rain, you don’t even know what to do.”

The ex-president said these houses have “restrictions.”

“On the showers and the sinks and on washing machines… they give you so much water… dishwashers, they give you so much water,” Trump said, gesturing that it was a small amount.

In May, the Department of Energy announced new energy efficiency measures, including for dishwashers, a move Trump called “crazy,” adding that most Americans “don’t want this.”

‘They want to wash their hands. Do you know what you’re doing, washing your hands four times longer?’ he said. “You’re going to take a shower. Like you have such beautiful hair, beautiful, and Larry, I don’t want to leave there, I want to shower and wash my hair.’

“You have those things where the water just drips out, it can barely get to you, it’s brutal,” he added.

He said Americans wanted “choice” in what products they buy.

And offered that they didn’t want dishwashers they would have to run five times due to the lack of water.

“I mean, it’s all crazy,” said the 2024 hopeful.
