Former President Donald Trump leads his successor Joe Biden by six points in a head-to-head poll conducted entirely in key swing states.

The catch, however, is that Trump could lose nearly half of those considering voting for him if he is convicted of a crime.

Trump’s lead over the incumbent president comes after he defeated Biden in a series of surveys, with both men having low approval ratings and voters expressing displeasure with both likely nominees.

The survey, conducted by Bloomberg and Morning Consult, surveyed residents of seven key states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

When including independents like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Jill Stein and Cornel West, the same people prefer Trump over Biden by a score of 44 to 35, with Kennedy at nine percent.

Biden is closest to Trump’s top in Pennsylvania and Arizona, where he said he is only three points behind Bloomberg.

However, he loses by five in Wisconsin and Michigan, eight in Nevada and Georgia and a whopping 10 percent in North Carolina.

Biden won Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, Wisconsin and Michigan in 2020.

Based on past voting trends and the number of electoral votes involved, the current president would likely need to win five of those states again in 2024 to remain in office.

The news isn’t entirely good for Trump, however, as many voters remain concerned about his legal troubles.

The same survey found that 53 percent of swing state voters would be unwilling to vote for Trump if he were found guilty, while 55 percent would refuse to vote for him if he went to prison.

About 23 percent of registered Republicans in the seven states surveyed say they would drop their vote for Trump if convicted.

Of those who dislike both Trump and Biden, 79 percent said they would be unwilling to vote for a guilty Trump.

Trump faces 91 criminal charges in four separate indictments but maintains a huge lead in the Republican primaries and, according to many polls, in the general election.

It comes after Biden hammered Trump on abortion rights during a speech in Virginia last week, and Trump continued to label Biden as “crooked” even as he spent much of his victory speech in New Hampshire tearing into Republican rival Nikki Haley.

Biden is taking new steps with his campaign, sending trusted White House advisers Jennifer O’Malley Dillon and Mike Donilon to Wilmington to help steer his reelection efforts.

The two candidates themselves appear poised for a rematch after Trump’s back-to-back victories in Iowa and New Hampshire, with the White House viewing Trump as a challenger to beat and Trump furious that Haley did not immediately drop out of the Republican race.
