Jenna Ellis, one of former President Donald Trump’s 2020 election attorneys, admitted in the Colorado lawsuit that she had “misrepresented” the outcome of the presidential election.
Ellis, along with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and conspiracy theorist Sidney Powell, were the faces of Trump’s attempt to overturn President Joe Biden’s 2020 victory by claiming widespread voter fraud.
Last year, the bipartisan watchdog group, 65 Project, filed a complaint accusing Ellis of professional misconduct seeking to have her disbarred in her home state of Colorado.
This is evident from a decision released on WednesdayColorado’s Supreme Court Judge Bryon Large wrote that Ellis agreed to make 10 misrepresentations on Twitter and during television appearances in November and December 2020.
Those misrepresentations included tweets saying the “election was STOLEN” to longer statements saying there was evidence of widespread fraud.

“We have witness statements, we have voter intimidation, we have the ballots that were rigged, we have all kinds of statistics that show that in all of these states this was a coordinated effort to transfer votes from Trump to Biden, to rig. the ballots, to secretly count them,” Ellis said, for example, on Fox Business’ Mornings with Maria Bartiromo on Nov. 20.
Large wrote that Ellis and the state of Colorado had come to an agreement that she made these statements with “at the very least a reckless state of mind.”
“The parties agree that Defendant’s conduct undermined the confidence of the American public in the presidential election and violated its duty of candor to the public,” the judge continued, adding that Ellis had “a selfish motive” and “engaged in a pattern of misconduct.”
The sentence was a public disapproval, although Ellis did not lose her ability to practice law in the state of Colorado.
On Twitter, Ellis called it a legal victory.
“This was politically motivated from the beginning by Democrats and Never Trumpers. They ultimately failed to destroy me and failed in their attempt to strip me of my bar license. Glad to put this behind me and maintain a good reputation in the state of Colorado,” she tweeted in a message to “every news outlet that has contacted, will contact or pretended to contact me or my attorneys. .’
In addition, she tweeted a statement from her lawyer Michael Melito.
“My client remains a practicing attorney in good standing in the state of Colorado. In a very heated political climate, we secured that right outcome,” Melito said.
