New York Attorney General Letitia James has indicted former President Donald Trump, accusing him of “countless fraud,” in a legal move following a three-year investigation.
James was set to announce the lawsuit at a news conference on Wednesday, in a lawsuit that accuses Trump and his three adult children of inflating real estate valuations of his real estate empire and low tax records.
She said after reviewing “millions of documents” and told reporters it was for “breaking the law as part of his efforts to make a profit for himself, his family and his business.”
She said he did it “to cheat the system and cheat us all.”
She specifically named Trump and three of his adult children, Don Jr., Eric and Ivanka Trump, saying they “continued” to drive up asset values.

The total “fraud” amounted to $250 million, she claimed.
She specifically referred to “statements of financial condition” his accountants and executives prepared for Trump.
Trump vouched for the accuracy of those statements when submitting them to banks and insurance companies.
Donald Trump Jr. immediately hit back, tweeting a photo of James and writing: “The bull**** Dem witch hunt continues.”
“We show that they have violated several state criminal laws, including falsifying company records, displaying false financial statements, insurance fraud and conspiring to commit each of these state law violations,” she said.
She accused them of creating “more than 200” false and misleading asset valuations.
She accused Trump of “deliberate and willful fraud” by tripling the size of his Trump Tower penthouse apartment, increasing its value.
Donald Trump Jr. immediately hit back, tweeting a photo of James and writing: “The bull**** Dem witch hunt continues.”
She also brought up Trump properties, including 40 Wall Street.
James said he “blatantly ignored legal restrictions” at Mar-a-Lago, stating that it could be developed for residential use, when in fact it was subject to numerous restrictions. He valued the property on a “false premise” that it could be sold and used in a private home.
