Trump is open to Vivek Ramaswamy being his VP pick: Ex-president calls entrepreneur, 38, ‘smart’ and ‘full of talent’ – but warns he’s ‘getting a little bit controversial’

Trump open to Vivek Ramaswamy as his vice president: ex-president calls entrepreneur, 38, ‘smart’ and ‘full of talent’ – but warns he is ‘getting a bit controversial’

  • “He’s a very, very, very intelligent person. He has good energy and could be some kind of something,” Trump told radio host Glenn Beck
  • “He’s starting to get out a little bit. He’s getting a little controversial,” Trump said
  • “I have to tell him, ‘Be a little careful. Some things you have to hold back a bit, don’t you?’

Former President Donald Trump is a fan of Vivek Ramaswamy and thinks the 38-year-old could be a “very good” VP choice if he backtracks on the controversial comments.

An unknown name just months ago, the entrepreneur and “Anti-Woke” author has risen to fame as the youthful and vocal anti-establishment candidate in the Republican Party primary.

“He’s a very, very, very intelligent person. He’s got good energy, and he could be some form of something,” Trump told radio host Glenn Beck of a potential “Vice President Ramaswamy.”

“I tell you, I think he would be very good.”

Still, former president Ramaswamy warned to “be a little careful” with his words.

Ramaswamy joins Trump on issues such as abolishing the Department of Education and launching military strikes against Mexico to take out drug cartels.

He has also proposed ideas like freezing current battle lines in Ukraine – which could allow Russia to gain control of the Donbas region as long as Ukraine stops trying to be part of NATO and Russia cuts ties with China.

Speaking at a campaign stop in Iowa, he said the US should defend Taiwan against China’s advances “at least until we achieve semiconductor independence in this country, at which point we will reevaluate.”

He is also grieved about US aid to Israel.

In the GOP debate last week, former UN ambassador Nikki Haley accused Ramaswamy of “wanting to stop funding Israel.”

He shot back: “Our relationship with Israel will never be stronger than at the end of my first term. But it’s not a customer relationship, it’s a friendship. And you know what friends do? Friends help each other stand on their own two feet.’

Ramaswamy was accused of racism for calling Haley by her birth name on his website to backtrack on her claims about his Israeli views.

‘WRONG. Keep lying, Nimarata Randhawa,” the website reads.

He had said on Russell Brand’s Rumble channel that by 2028, the year in which the US’s $38 billion aid package to Israel expires, the Middle Eastern ally would no longer need aid.

“You have no foreign policy and it shows!” Haley yelled at Ramaswamy when he indicated during the debate that he would debunk the war effort in Ukraine. “Don’t do that to your friends. You choose a murderer over a pro-American country.”

Ramaswamy introduced himself to the public during the debate as the “skinny guy with a funny last name” and got into heated arguments with former Vice President Mike Pence, Haley, and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

His standout performance was immediately recognized by voters, with a DailyMail.com poll showing him tied with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

“We’re just going to have some fun tonight,” Ramaswamy said to the crowd at one point, deflecting an attack.

“The real choice we face in this primaries is this: Do you want a Super PAC doll?” he asked. “Or do you want a patriot who speaks the truth? Do you want incremental reforms, which you are now hearing about, or do you want a revolution?’
