Former President Donald Trump continues to lead New Hampshire, according to a new poll after he was indicted and charged in a Miami court for willful possession of national security information.
Trump’s support has risen to 47 percent in a new New Hampshire Journal poll/coefficient taken after the indictment.
He was already running strong in surveys in the early primary state. The poll had Trump at 47 percent, just short of a majority, with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at 13 percent.
Former New Jersey governor Chris Christie, who launched his own presidential campaign in the state last week with blistering attacks on Trump, sat at 9 percent — well above where he stands nationally.
Nationally, Trump ranks about 2 percentage points lower in the RealClearPolitics average since news broke of his indictment over allegations related to classified documents seized by the FBI from his home in Mar-a-Lago.

Trump has taken the opportunity to raise millions through fundraising while attacking prosecutors and rivals.
Trump won New Hampshire in 2016 by a multiple, and Christie ended his own run in 2016 after scoring just 6 percent there. Trump was at 42 percent in an April poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire.
The poll of 900 New Hampshire GOP primary voters took place June 14-16, immediately following Trump’s historic indictment, which included wall-to-wall cable and network media coverage. Trump took full advantage of the event by traveling to a restaurant in Miami and blasting Democrats and researchers in a speech at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Trump has maintained his leading polls even while facing legal troubles
There have been limited New Hampshire polls so far, but other surveys have also found Trump well ahead of DeSantis.
Former Vice President Mike Pence, who learned days ago that the FBI was shutting down an investigation of classified materials discovered in his Indiana home, was at 5 percent.
Tied at 3 percent are former UN ambassador Nikki Haley, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy and Senator Tim Scott (RS.C.).
