Trump hammers Biden over Hamas attack claiming he ‘BETRAYED’ Israel and blasts $6 billion Iran ‘ransom’ while calling to reinstate travel ban from ‘terror-afflicted countries’

Former President Donald Trump on Monday seized on the chaos and tragedy in Israel to accuse his successor, Joe Biden, of betraying one of the nation’s closest allies.

Trump, speaking to supporters in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire on Monday, backed his own withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal and suspended his travel ban that sparked a furious legal battle.

“When I was Commander-in-Chief, we wrecked the Iranian economy, I pulled out of the disastrous Iran nuclear deal, imposed the toughest sanctions on the regime and imposed a strict TRAVEL BAN to keep Radical Islamic terrorists in hell. our country,” Trump said.

He spoke just days after Hamas militants crossed into Israel from the Gaza Strip and attacked homes, cars and military bases, killing about 700 Israelis along with nine Americans.

Trump accused Biden of “giving” funds to Iran, which supports proxies including Hezbollah, which the US lists as sponsors of terrorism, saying US policy in Iran caused the terrorist invasion.

“Joe Biden BETRAYED Israel,” Trump said, saying he would “once again stand firm on the State of Israel,” in prepared remarks.

“Joe Biden turned it all upside down and gave billions of dollars to the world’s leading sponsor of terror, throwing Israel into the hands of bloodthirsty terrorists and jihadists,” he said.

Trump called it a “$6 billion ransom.”

He was referring to an agreement that provided a waiver for the transfer of $6 billion in frozen Iranian funds from South Korea. The funds are now in Qatar as part of a deal that freed five Americans. The government says the funds are restricted to humanitarian purposes and said after the Hamas attack that no funds have been distributed to date.

Trump’s attack came after Biden spoke at the White House about the stunning attack.

“The United States stands with the state of Israel,” Biden said, saying he had spoken with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. MThe government’s support for Israel’s security is firm and unwavering,” he said.

White House national security official John Feiner told CBS News on Monday that Iran was “broadly complicit in these attacks” but that the U.S. had not seen “any kind of direct involvement in the direct attacks that have taken place over the last two days”.

Foreign Secretary Anthony Blinken said Sunday that Hamas “would not be as close as it is without the support it has received from Iran over the years,” but also said that “we have yet to see evidence that Iran directed or was behind. this specific attack”.
